Agreed. As long as the parts are compatible, which we can help with, assembling a pc is the way to go. This budget is difficult, though. Ideally you’d budget $250 (210€?)just for the graphics card. You really want a GTX1060. The graphics card is everything in a gaming computer. You won’t have much budget left; that means bare minimums on everything else.

This build is an excellent place to start:

PCGamer.com cheapest gaming computer build

Intel Pentium G4560
GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
ASRock B250M Pro4
Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4-2133
Crucial MX300 275GB
EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze PSU

Don’t forget a copy of Windows 10, a decent mouse, keyboard, monitor, and headphones or speakers.

Also I’ll suggest you reuse an old 7200rpm SATA hard drive (250gb+)if you have one in an old PC. This isn’t ideal, but it will help control costs and while it will make the game load slower than the Crucial MX300 listed above, it wont really affect gameplay.

Based on feedback and current prices, I suggest the following hardware:

yea but if i spend 100 on a gpu it wouldn't fit the case. So i would have to get a new micro atx case that probably would be awkwardly sitting next to my very tiny entertainment system. and then i would have to get a new psu because of the power draw of the 1050.

40 for new psu

You can get GT 1030 and GTX 1050 at retail prices right now. The leap is at 1050 Ti.

u/OldBroomHands · 3 pointsr/playrust

I am seeing pretty good deals in GTX 1050 units right now on Amazon. Looks like you can get into a 2GB ("entry level") unit for approximately $120.

Great price, since everything else is inflated.

u/Torragg · 2 pointsr/computers

this If you have the money get a 4gb version of it.

u/lb24569 · 2 pointsr/buildmeapc

Just out of curiosity what music production software are you using? Most are optimized for multicore processing (some more than others). A Ryzen 5 would probably be a better choice having those 2 extra cores.

Graphics card you dont need much for audio production as there will be no GPU load. Something like this would be more than enough, https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Geforce-GDDR5-Graphic-GV-N1050OC-2GD/dp/B01MG0733A/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1503145830&sr=1-3&keywords=GTX+1050

Or if you wanna save even more money buy a used 950 off ebay.

u/hobitopia · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Honestly, that is a terrible deal.

You're much better off getting an off-lease intel i5 workstation for ~$300 and putting a ~$120 1050 in it.

The off lease computer should come with windows anyways and you'll get close to 60% more cpu performance and close to TRIPLE the gpu performance.

EDIT: This computer, with this GPU is going to put you way ahead of that computer you're looking at.

Use this computer instead with that GPU and you'll have over double the performance for video editing.

u/ZeroPaladn · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'm not horribly familiar with newer emulators (like for GameCube) but I've seen N64 emulators work just fine on an Intel Atom iGPU. I can't weigh in on the necessity of one for GameCube.

Even if the GPU is 100% required, you're wasting your money with that PoS GPU. Get somethign like this instaed.

u/neoslith · 2 pointsr/computers

This page shows Fortnite's minimum specs, as in the Intel HD 4k.

That card would be okay, but you'd be limited on much else you can play. I know it's hard right now for GPU's, so many are over priced because of the bit coin miners.

Try out this 1050 for $40 more than the ATI you listed. You might want to also get more RAM, 4 isn't a whole lot these days.

Also not too sure about that CPU. Again, it matches the minimum specs, but the minimum shouldn't be a goal.

u/grexl · 1 pointr/lowendgaming

I picked up a GTX 1050 recently for $120. Plays games fine on the older system I put it in. Small card, does not require external power, nice and quiet.

You did not mention a budget, but you will be hard-pressed to go cheaper than a GTX 1050 and still be able to play "every" game in existence.

u/AztecW88 · 1 pointr/diablo3

I don't know what your price range is but a GTX 1050 is $150 on Amazon and will run Diablo 3 on max settings at 60 fps. And it'll let you play games like Overwatch on medium settings fairly smoothly.

IF NOT COMPATIBLE: Can you suggest something that is(pref. $200 or less)

here is a 1050 on amazon for ~75 after rebate, if you or someone you know has prime

found this deal on /r/buildapcsales - great sub there as well

eh, its just cause its an integrated GPU - those are meant for basic tasks and office work, not really for gaming, though some can work well for it. as long as you have a slot and PSU for the GPU, it will be well worth it

u/Tylertooo · 1 pointr/buildapc

LOL, the 1030 is supposed to be the $65-$70 card, and it's barely worth that.

Save up $40 more and grab this. It'll be the best you'll get in these times...

u/SuperbLoner · 1 pointr/pcgamingtechsupport

Thanks! Do you think this card would be a worthwhile upgrade?

u/DevilScarlet · 1 pointr/thesims

Don't look at those guys saying you need gtx970 or more than 8gb of ram

RAM : Got all extension + something like 1000 packages (mods) and my sims 4 use 1,2gb so even 4gb might be fine... but 8gb is a must if you want to run other things in background like youtube...

Used GTX 970? not really needed, again, if you don't want to max out graphics, the 1030 you linked is enough, but well if you could afford some kind of GTX1050 it might be better and you could max out graphics. [Here is one at 119$](

u/NathanHammerTime · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm looking to buy a graphics card for my first PC build (which will happen in the next few months) because I got a relatively substantial amazon gift card. Literally the only game I play is Rocket League, and it's the only game I plan on playing. What is my best value option?

I don't have a 4k monitor (nor do I intend to get one) so I'm really not trying to run everything at max settings/max fps. I just want something that will run the game well enough on high settings.

My current thought is this one but if this one would help me that much more, I think I'd be willing to dish out the cash. Or if there's an entirely different one that would work best for my needs then by all means suggest another!

u/1121345 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Also I want to get it today but dont want to wait for it to be in stock i am only going to be playing lol or csgo rocket league h1z1 and maybe bf1 is this good? I dont care if I have to play on medium or low settings thanks

u/TransientBananaBread · 1 pointr/buildapc

An actual graphics card would be your first purchase. Nothing really expensive. Something like a GTX 1050 or RX 460 would do what you want just fine (A 1050 would be better if you can get it for the same price or close to an RX 460). If you still have money left over after that, you would want to upgrade your CPU/MOBO/RAM next.

u/Boys4Jesus · 1 pointr/buildapc

That is a 1050, however I would recommend getting one with 2 fans like this one.

1050

u/SirWadsworth · 1 pointr/buildapc

Then do you think I should forego both of them and just go with a gtx 1050? Based on benchmarks I've seen it out preforms a 560 in most things, I'm worried about compatability with the MOBO though but I'm just going based off of stories I've heard. The height of it also seems to be similiar to the 580 but I can't really tell.

u/Silver_Foxxx · 1 pointr/computers

OK it looks like you have enough room for a decent video card.

You have an Allied SL-8360BTX 350W power supply, so you need something better because it doesn't have the required PCI-e power cable nor the proper wattage.

A decent power supply.

An HD monitor could be 720P or 1080P in size. Either size monitor would be well served with a RX 570 or if you have a bit more money and higher expectations an RX 580.

You could go with a GTX 1050, and you wouldn't have to buy a power supply but it wouldn't be as fluid in games as the RX 570 or the RX 580.

u/Canaadriane · 1 pointr/buildapc

Hi, So I built my current rig back in April 2017 and thought I'd upgrade this black friday but I dont know what to upgrade. I'm running:

Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 Case

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-A LGA1151 Intel H110 Micro ATX DDR4 Motherboard

Processor: Intel 3.70 GHz Core i3-6100 3M

Graphics card: GIGABYTE Geforce GTX 1050 2GB

RAM: 1 stick of Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 Dram

Power Supply: EVGA 430 W1

Storage: WD Blue 1TB Sata Hard Drive

This is the only PC I've ever built and I've never upgraded before. I would like to upgrade my CPU because its an i3 and I know its getting outdated but I dont know if thats the only thing needing an upgrade. I usually get 150+ frames on Counter-Strike and around 120fps on Overwatch but these are all on low settings. However I just recently bought BO4 and can barely run at 60 fps at low. Any advice as to what processor I need to upgrade to?

u/puggeruni · 1 pointr/CabaloftheBuildsmiths

Thank's for the build. I have a few questions. What if we switch the video card for another 1050 like this one? I saw this on BuildaPCsales subreddit.

I spoke with him mom. If we increase the budget by a hundred dollars, can we get him a gaming monitor so he doesn't have to use his tv.

i'm trying to update this old ass hand-me-down computer now that I have a little bit of money. It has a GeForce GTX 680, and I wanna upgrade to a GeForce GTX 1050 and I'm wondering if it's as simple as swapping them out, given I have a decent power supply. I've read a lot but never actually done this stuff so I'm not sure what information you need.
