Summary:


This is a Mini-ITX build. This setup will only support a single GPU, however the selected case will handle almost any full-size graphics card (some oversize Titans will not fit). This build will provide as much power as a standard ATX build (albeit there won't be any SLI) in a smaller footprint.


 


Comments:

1. The motherboard is overkill but it gives you the option of overclocking later on. Also, it provides you with an M.2 socket (up to 2280) if you ever wanted to add one in. Wireless a/b/g/n/ac, 4x USB 3.0 ports, 4x USB 2.0 ports. I'd suggest a hub if going above 8 ports.
   
2. The RAM is also great for overclocking. 16GB should cover all of your needs and then some. Additionally, the motherboard will handle anything up to 3300MHz.
   
3. The GTX 980 is quite a bit more expensive than the 970, however seeing as this case only supports one card I figured the 980 was fitting. It will be able to handle pretty much any game at this point (Metro hitting ~30 FPS @ 4k).
   
4. The H100i and the AF120's are included for quiet CPU cooling. The H100i will be able to handle any overclocking you decide to do also.
   
5. The 2 840 Evo's should bring you about 1000MB/s read/write when in RAID0. The 250GB versions are $45 more a piece.
   
6. The WD Red is included for quiet, reliable storage. It won't be as fast as a WD Black, but it'll run much quieter and cooler than one. Reds get about 150MB/s read/write.
   
7. The power supply is overkill, however it is 80 Plus Platinum so it will provide quiet, reliable power as well as handle any additional overclocking you decide to do later on.
   
8. The CPU is the best CPU for this socket. An i7 isn't necessary for just gaming, however if you're streaming and gaming at the same time, you will appreciate the extra power.
   
9. The 250D is a small mini-ITX case, however it will fit everything in this list (including the H100i). You can look up videos of it but I'm certain that it will be the easiest case to haul around for LAN and travel. It also provides an additional 2x USB 3.0 ports.
   
10. You can always swap out the DVD drive for a card reader if you find that you do not need the former.

    This is a standard ATX build that supports SLI and has a total of 15 USB 3.0 ports. It will be a bit more of a nuisance when moving around however it does have all of the features you requested.

11. The motherboard will allow overclocking however I had to include a wireless card as this motherboard doesn't have one.
    
12. I included the same 980 GTX however two 970 GTX's in SLI will destroy any current single-card solution. Your choice if you want to use a 970 now (should handle games with ease) and buy a second 970 at a later time.
    
13. The tower is larger than a mini-ITX case, however it is still a cube so it may be easier to carry than normal mid towers.
    
14. Hard drives are the same as the Mini-ITX solution.
    
15. The power supply is an 860 watt as to allow for SLI.
    
16. The card reader will need the addon card for connectivity, but if you buy both you'll have an extra 9 USB 3.0 ports along with the card reader features.
    
17. The CPU cooling is the same as the Mini-ITX solution.

    Regarding the wireless headset, I'd recommend the G930 ($100) or the Astro A50 ($300). The latter supports optical and operates on a 5.8GHz band, however the G930 seems to be the best bang for the buck. I personally own a pair and cannot say anything negative about them.
    
    
    Also, if you'd like to see the cost of a rig that doesn't allow overclocking, feel free to say so. I'll gladly put a list together. It will be cheaper overall I believe.
