Seems to be one of these.

I shall post that build within a half hour. Builds posted below.

As for the sound recording, here is a link to a WMA file containing a 10 second recording using the G930 and windows sound recorder. If you'd like a specific sentence or type of recording, just let me know.

As for the A50, a buddy of mine happens to own a pair and he speaks very highly of them. They are comfortable for extended periods, they provide very clear audio, they don't have wireless disconnects, etc. I would assume that based on these observations, they are best in class. For that price, I would hope they'd be.

Regarding the case, there are plenty of mid and full towers available. I'll look for one with the generic style (like the Antec) however if you have a specific case in mind, I'll gladly build a parts-list around it.

Comments:

  1. Basically you drop down to a basic Mini-ITX board (still ASUS) that will provide no overclocking whatsoever.
  2. Because there is no overclocking, you don't necessarily need a better cooler. You can eliminate the H100i and the fans.
  3. If you still wanted super-quiet cooling, you could go with a H60, H80, or H100. It's really not necessary at that point though.
  4. You now have more room in the budget for storage or a monitor.

  5. Basically you can drop the H100i and the fans. The board must stay the same if you want SLI.
  6. The 500R looks to be a pretty sleek case although there is a firewire header...not sure why.
  7. If you think that you aren't going to want SLI, you could always go with a micro-ATX setup. It would be slightly smaller and you could get your card reader to fit, although I don't think it'd be good for future upgrades.
