I was going to suggest heat gun, but unless you have a fine concentrated top for it, you may warp the surrounding areas. If not, is it possible for you to just cut the covers away?

EDIT: I just realized the mask kind of requires the covers. How about cutting them away and replacing them with your own, using clear craft plastic Amazon link
