I'm using a 60% rest cut in half too. Works great. I also have this laying around. 17"x8" gives a lot of room to cut custom shapes if you're into that.

Well I put a towel under my wrist and it seems like its helping, I just ordered this from amazon

with the towel under my wrist while using "wasd" i no longer get the pain im talking about, so I think thats the issue.

I run 2 of their "Big Ass Wrist Rest", they're truly amazing. I don't use them as my mouse pad though, I have a Razer Vespula for a mouse pad.

It's all personal preference. I use this as I have wrist issues from the amount of time I have spent on a computer over the passed 16 years. I have seen some pros use wrist rests and some don't.
