If you aren't sure about the galaxy, you might want to consider getting a plainer new 3ds XL and decorating it a bit. They're available pretty much anywhere game accessories are sold. Found one at Walmart myself. Here it is on Amazon.
I'm pretty sure that every generation of Pokemon games has gotten a LE handheld, so it wouldn't hurt to wait. If it's not announced by mid-October, then we likely aren't. Another idea you could do is get the black system and this Pokemon case. It will protect your device and look really cool.
