I'm not exactly sure why there's a difference, but OP is 100% right. I was beating my head against the wall trying to figure out why so many people say that crouch jumping is "easy" yet after hours of time practicing it in lobbies I could only nail it about 20-30% of the time. I have a slim aluminum keyboard that's a knockoff of a mac keyboard and one day I just decided to try plugging in my wife's super cheap regular old USB keyboard (something kind of like this) and BAM! All of a sudden I'm nailing the jump about 70% of the time. Massive difference. With my keyboard it's not even worth attempting in-game because with such a high failure rate you just put yourself in a worse position by getting stuck trying to pull off the jump.

Both keyboards are membrane, so I don't know about mechanical vs. membrane, but it's definitely true that it's much easier with some keyboards than it is others. In my opinion, Bluehole should change the tolerance for the timing of the crouch jump to make it easier so that you don't have to have the timing down so damn perfect.

If I was you I'd go for a cheap office keyboard like the K120. I've used this one previously and it worked very well: http://www.amazon.com/HP-H3C52AA-ABA-K1500-Keyboard/dp/B00E4TOWR0/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1450873219&sr=1-3&keywords=keyboard Just look around and hopefully you can find something you're looking for :)

I'm also on San Francisco, and I think you should build one yourself/have someone build one for you, unless you can find a good deal on one of the HP's mentioned here. I might be able to help build one.

You'll also need a mouse, keyboard, and monitor (assuming you don't have them already). If you don't want to get anything fancy, here's an inexpensive keyboard, mouse, and monitor:

You can also skip getting a monitor if you have a TV you'd like to use instead.

Thousands.

Frankly, I can't believe that's your only requirement.

external keyboards work fine on Chromebooks for what it is worth. Couple of these might be a better solution

To the build: It has a good cpu, enough ram, HDD and SSD., I added a proper display and Windows 10, the case looks nice and has some blue accents. I'm not sure about the gpu: It is possible she will need a stronger one, but that does not fit into the budget. Something to keep in mind and maybe upgrade later.

You can pick up reliable rubber dome boards for less than that. Save the money and put it towards a keyboard you'll love.

Not the dream keyboard, but the one that you love to use until you can justify the dream keyboard.

Reliable rubber domes: One two

Save to buy one of these: One two

Tell yourself that one day you'll pick up one of these: cherry 6.0

Or maybe something else is the dream keyboard.

Thank you! Pi 3 sounds like a solid option, then. Since I basically know nothing about what I'm doing, going with the noob-friendly set-up seems best.

Here's what I'm looking at:

Rapsberry Pi 3

Sense HAT

5" touchscreen monitor

Keyboard

Pre-loaded 8GB SD card

I already have a USB mouse and power supply. All of this sets me back about $135 USD. Seem reasonable? Would this be everything I need for a lil weather station, besides a casing of some sort?

Anything that's USB should work. Assuming you're in the US, this should work fine, or just go to Walmart and grab whatever's cheapest.
