I absolutely love my drying tent. Let me tell you how I made it and why I love it so much:

I have a small 18x30x36 tent, an Inkbird humidity controller, a small humidifier, a filter/blower, and an inline fan. The Inkbird controls the humidifier and filter/blower to hold humidity at 60%. The inline fan is combined with a length of 4" duct and a speed reducer to very gently circulate the air in the tent. A wire rack provides a place to hang colas from.

There are a bunch of things that this tent is doing for me that I love:

  1. I'm always growing because I'm not waiting for my colas to dry in my grow tent anymore.

  2. I'm slow drying for two weeks at 60% humidity instead of one week at 50% humidity, resulting in a much smoother smoke. I'm really surprised how much of a difference this makes.

  3. Staggered harvests are super easy- When I see my plant is ripe up top, I take off the top half of the plant and pop it in the tent to dry. A week later after the bottom of the plant has ripened, I take it down and pop it in the tent.

  4. Multi strains are super easy- Since I don't have to harvest everything at once, I can grow strains with different flowering times. On my last grow, my fastest plant came down at F80 and my slowest plant came down at F101.

  5. I do not have to worry about over/under drying my bud. I don't even have to check the dryness. If a cola has been in my dry tent for two weeks or longer, it's ready to trim and jar.

  6. I trim and jar at my convenience. If I want to spread my trimming out over several weekends, I can do that. I can leave my colas hanging for months if I want, and have fully cured bud going into jars at trim time.

I went with the iPower combo deals on Amazon personally and they do the job.

I got this for my 2'x4' tent. I got the 6 inch for my 4'x4'. I haven't done a grow with the 6" yet but I completed one with the 4inch and it did the trick.

The best single investment is probably going to be Jorge Cervantes' Marijuana Horticulture. Cervantes is a counterculture legend, and has been revising and updating this book for 35 years, so it's comprehensive. It can take you from what you need to get started, all the way up to how to grow top shelf bud. And it will help you troubleshoot problems when they arise.

I grow 2 plants at a time in a small grow tent using a single Marshydro 300 lamp. I also use an inline carbon filter with a vent fan. I use just basic potting soil and Miracle-Gro fertilizer. And I've got a pH tester, which costs about $15. Other than that, I just make do with wire and string and duct tape, so other than electricity, there aren't any other big costs. My yield is a bit over 2 oz cured bud per plant, so 4 oz per crop, plus several grams of bubble hash. I can grow 3 crops per year, but 2 crops (4 plants, 8 oz) is enough for me.

This is what I bought. I use the ratcheting clips it comes with to lift and hold the lid of my bucket while I work. The speed controller is pretty crucial, I think, because this fan is more powerful than a bucket needs. I keep my speed at about half and get good VPD balance.

This is the exhaust fan that pulls the air out running 24/7. The carbon filter is in the tent and the actual fan is on top the tent pulling air out.
