I hate those vines! They were taking over my yard when I bought my house 4 years ago. I identified them as Oriental Bittersweet (i think). They’re all over the place in the woods between houses and the vines can get several inches thick.
I’ve been ripping them out of the ground for years. Don’t cut them - they’ll just grow right back. My landscaper this year gave me a tip though. He said to buy some flower water tubes like these that people use in flower arrangements. But instead of water he told be to put in Round-Up concentrate. Then when you see a vine, cut it down at an angle, stick a tube on the end and it’ll kill the whole root system it’s attached to - which can be way bigger than it seems.
I haven’t tried it yet because I need some sort of plastic syringe to measure it out. Make sure you wear nitrile gloves.
Or do it the old fashioned way and spend your summer swearing as you rip them out of the ground.
