I often keep my mice playing on a table that they cannot climb elsewhere to. Mice tend not to jump from high places so you can rest well knowing they won't get lost.

I have this fence for my mice and it works well! However they can squeeze beneath the part of the fence that connects to the cage so you can put a piece of cardboard or a shirt to block the large opening and they should stay in the fence.
Cardboard is a great option. Is she pushing the cardboard away or chewing holes in it? Another thing that you could try is to get a few of these really short fences and surround the bottom of your couch with it. They're only 9inches high and do a great job at blocking off lower areas.

It's pretty small though l, so this is actually 3 of them put together. :)
Perhaps something more like this? If you put something heavy against it (bricks maybe?) she likely won't be able to get over it, but I suppose it depends on the couch you have if the playpen would work.
They always seem the smartest when they are trying to get what they want lol
