Yes, I would chop the veggies very small and put them in the same bowl, along with a few pellets. That way if they're going to be a picky eater, they might still accidentally taste some of the veggies.

So I consulted my boyfriend, who has done all the research about budgies. It is the diet they are eating, the food has too many calories for the birds, and they don't get enough excercise to burn it off.
