Look into these. They allow you to use your wall socket as a LAN port. It's what I've used to bypass the fact that I have no LAN port in my room and it works a charm.
If none of this works, it may be a problem with your wi-fi card. Check the connection with another computer. If it's a problem with the first PC, you can simply buy a wi-fi USB dongle to plug in and use as a replacement wi-fi card.
