The other guy explained it well, but also note that a good membrane keyboard (if it doesn't explicitly say mechanical, it is membrane) will be $20-$50 and a good mechanical will be about $40-$150.

For games like LoL and considering that he is 13, Logitech is a good brand. They make a lot of RGB (customizable lighting) keyboards with a lot of extra key for Macros, and media keys for things like volume and music playback. Corsair, Logitech, and Razer are all good brands.

I am currently using a Logitech G110 while I wait for my G710+ to come in and I would recommend the G110 to anyone. The G105 is similar.

I'm actually looking into the G105 Gaming Keyboard for $35. If anybody owns it, could you let me know your thoughts?

Sorry i couldn't fit a gaming keyboard in, but i can recommend this one. This should get very nice performance in games, should run all the games listed (except BF4) at the highest settings.

u/89G · 3 pointsr/makemychoice

You should probably check out /r/MechanicalKeyboards' buying guide here.

Like /u/LuxorSlopski said, the Monoprice keyboard is probably the cheapest one you can get readily, but they use Cherry MX Blue switches which make a click sound when pressed. I think people normally recommend Black or Red switches for gaming since there's no bump when you press them, but Blue switches should be fine if you don't mind the click sound.

Also, if you don't mind a membrane keyboard instead of mechanical, I've heard pretty good things about the Logitech G105. It's about $40 and has more features compared to some of the cheaper mechanical boards.

u/zamardii12 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

It's only blue lighting. Doesn't change. I wanted a simple and cheap back-lit keyboard and this was the only one I could find. Would have preferred standard white back-lights.

On Amazon it's listed as "Logitech G105 920-003371 Gaming Keyboard"

You can't go wrong with a mechanical keyboard. You could go with Logitech for the lower end "quality" keyboards. These are on sale right now and are decent entry level. Having used a membrane (~$50) keyboard for years, I really have to say the extra $20-30 is more than worth it.

Cherry MX Browns (not Blues or Reds) are probably ideal if you type and game, and don't prefer one or the other.

If you insist on a cheapo, then the G105 has treated me well in the past.

u/brownenotbrown · 2 pointsr/buildmeapc

I included monitors, but it's way over budget and that's without peripherals besides those monitors or the operating system or any computer building tools.

The basic Ninja rotation after the opener is pretty straight forward at max level with a priority list:

  1. Keep Huton up by either casting it or with Armor Crush from the side of the target

  2. Keep Dancing Edge debuff up(Or if you have a warrior tank, have them do Storm's Eye so you can skip this priority, which they should have said ability in their tanking or off-tanking rotation anyway),

  3. Keep your DoTs up,

  4. Aeolean Edge from behind the target when both the debuff and DoTs are on the target and when Huton is on you with a safe amount of time left.

  5. Use Ninjutsu abilities on CD(i.e. Suiton for when Trick Attack is off CD or within 9 seconds of being off CD, Raiton, Katon, Doton) depending on the situation.

  6. Use oGCD abilities when they are off CD with the priority of Dream Within A Dream > Mug > Jugulate, try to use Dream + Mug between weaponskills if you are able to without clipping abilities since they share the same 90 second CD.

For 3+ mob AoE I just spam Death Blossom, Invigorate when less than 600 TP, and I typically Katon + Kassatsu + Katon, since when doing dungeons the mobs either get pulled out of Doton or die halfway before the full duration of the ability. If you have a trustworthy tank and the mobs wont die within 30 seconds of the cast of Doton, then by all means, do Katon + Kassatsu + Doton since it will do more dmg.

A big tip if you are serious about ninja, I recommend getting a keyboard with macro keys and setting up a key per ninjutsu(like macro 1 button be Huton, macro 2 button be Raiton, etc.). It is much simpler to just press 1 macro key(vs up to 4 different buttons) and it casts the ninjutsu for you.

Do NOT make an in-game macro since you will lose a lot of time with the /wait command, macro keyboards can mimic the speed of your button pressing to make it the fastest possible mudra cast speed every time. I have http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G105-920-003371-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00BBUCCKO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464593509&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+macro+keyboards and it has 6 macro keys on the left hand side of the keyboard, super easy to setup and is a lifesaver on trying to juggle weaving in a 4 button ninjutsu cast correctly between weaponskills.
u/MagicHamsta · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I assume you bought them used. In that case, not really a good deal.

You basically paid full price for a used Logitech G105 and $300 for a used 980.

A new G105 sells for $50 and a used 980 can be bought for ~$250 according to sold listings on ebay.

u/quengilar · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

That's tough, I would recommend sticking with membrane keyboards and probably an optical mouse, since they run cheaper. The CM Storm Xornet seems like a popular mouse, that with a G105 would be a good step in the right direction.

My new work keyboard is a Corsair mechanical. I think it's this model (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/k70-lux-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-red-led-cherry-mx-red-na), but I'd recommend one of their keyboards that don't have a textured spacebar as that's quickly driving me up a wall. The keys themselves are responsive and surprisingly quiet.

The keyboard I've had forever was a basic Microsoft Multimedia keyboard, but if you want something with some more bells and whistles Logitech all the way. My old roommate gave me two G15s when she upgraded to mechanicals, and I've been rocking one ever since. I keep the other in the closet as a backup in case this one ever dies, but I doubt it will. It looks like the spritual successor is the G710 mechanical (http://www.amzn.com/B009C98NPY), with the G105 being a non mechanical, and thus way cheaper variant (http://www.amzn.com/B00BBUCCKO).

I also recommend their mice. The G400 I have at work and the G500s at home have consistently been one of the most comfortable models I've used. It looks like they no longer make those models, but the general shape of it seems to be the current G403 (http://www.amzn.com/B01KUAMCV4) or M500 (http://www.amzn.com/B002B3YCQM).

mechanical keyboards are luxury to me if you want a decent gaming keyboard without spending too much money i would go for the G105 keyboard by Logitech. I use it and its been responsive without any problems, for just around 40$

[keyboard] (https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G105-920-003371-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00BBUCCKO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479159040&sr=8-1&keywords=G105)

As for the mouse it is very important if you play FPS games that require presicion like Counter Strike, Overwatch, etc.

Im using the G502 and it is very durable and ergonomic. Doesnt feel cheap and has many buttons that you can utilize, although that may be a deal breaker for most people. I like having the option to use buttons when i need to, which i quite often do. This is a mouse i would bitch at my friend to buy because its really good.

its a bit pricey but well worth it! its on special right now for 57$ BUY TODAY! (jk im starting to sound like that)

Btw you should spare yourself from the "hyped" brands like Razer, etc.

u/driftsc · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

I bought the COD g105 on amazon when it was $35. I don't play COD but i coudnt pass up a g105 for that price. Now it's way more expensive, but this 105 is like $40

u/Alexmessy · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Hi there, if you want a non mechanical, I would recommend the Logitech Logitech G105, it was my first keyboard and I loved it, or if you want a mechanical then this one, let me know what you think.

u/WolfType · 1 pointr/buildapc

Have you taken a look at this?

Or anything by Razer? I currently have a Razer BlackWidow mechanical keyboard, I got it whilst it was pretty cheap. They're usually pretty pricey.

Also, take a look at this list: most match your needs

u/XcrysdaleHAMAS · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Hello all! Thanks for checking out my post! :)

I'll try to keep this fairly short but there will probably be a TL;DR at the bottom if interested. I purchased a Logitech G105 for $40 or so a year and a half ago and as of late it's beginning to succumb to wear of the key caps despite monthly cleaning (I am aware i can replace only the key caps but I wanna spend haha). Now i come to you for advice on a new keyboard! I don't have a huge budget (Hopefully sub $100 but more if good reason is presented) but don't have a huge number of requirements either. Back-lit is necessary, but otherwise I just need something that will last me the next few years. Thanks for reading this all and all suggestions are welcome!

TL;DR
Looking for a suitable replacement (Sub $100) for my aging Logitech G105. All suggestions welcome, thanks again!

Current Keyboard for reference:

I'm biased against Razer products because every one that I've had I've had a miserable experience with except for the god damn mouse pad, which has yet to somehow break on me.

I have a Logitech G19 keyboard, it is amazing for keyboard, backlight customization to any color you want, and has a little LCD screen on that I made a program for to display the time, RAM/CPU usage, and a calender for me. It is a bit more pricey than the one you put up though.

It also has a similar (but better IMO) media area in the top right corner.

For gaming, you want a mechanical keyboard for better response times. That few MS response difference can make a huge difference in games, especially any FPS/PVP games you play. If that matters to you of course.

Here is a good Logitech keyboard, but it does not have flat keys that you are asking for. It is cheaper but I think it would last longer

u/evilHamsterzZz · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

If you want to upgrade your keyboard. I'd suggest waiting a bit longer to save some money so you can go mechanical.
If you don't want to wait, then this [from experience] is a great keyboard.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dBF76h ($732.60 initial cost, after rebates $662.59)

This is something i would recommend. It starts you off with enough power to be able to stream with plenty of room to upgrade if you wish. You can swap out the i5 for an i7 if plan on rendering videos to YouTube. Also you could decide to get Nvidia 780TI if you prefer it over AMD. As well as add in an SSD. Operating system i did not include on here i do not what you would want(windows 7 and or 8.1 or even Linux).

Building up a PC is actually very cheap. Also some add ons if you do not already own them. (please feel free to check other sites to see if you can get it cheaper)

I really don't know any keyboard + mouse combo apart from the Devastator, but that has some bad reviews.
I'd get the Logitech G105 and the E-Blue Cobra Junior.

Total around 52 dollars. If you want something better, I can recommend you something for a higher price.

This is the Keyboard I bought for generally any game and I needed to replace the budget one I got for when I first built my computer but I don't think this is the exact model but it's so close It should give a better idea.

I haven't tried any of the Corsair series keyboards, but I enjoy my Logitech G105.

u/doug_peck · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Im not a keyboard expert, but i plan on getting the logitech g105 in the not too distant future

http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G105-Gaming-Keyboard-Backlighting/dp/B00BBUCCKO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410445212&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+g105

its $40 so its in your price range, it comes with blue backlighting (Im not sure if you can get it in other colours) it has many programmable G keys and it has good reviews on amazon.

u/rumpleforeskin16 · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

anyone know how this would compare to the Logitech g105 or the Steelseries apex?

u/randomuserxy01 · 0 pointsr/WildStar

You should be able to get a basic gaming keyboard with this functionality for $20-30. And yes, I believe anti-ghosting is the more commonly used term.

This is probably a good choice for your budget:
