Sliquid lube doesn't have any kind of flavor to it, and lube shooters make it really easy to insert (just be careful with air bubbles..). Been a personal witness to more than one "omg you taste so good and you're so wet!" mind blown.

There may not be enough lube up inside you that far. You might need something like this.

Also; Angle of attack may be your problem. Try laying on your back with you feet over your BF's shoulders and see if it goes in any easier that way.

What kind of lube are you using? This is gonna sound nuts but there is this kind of lube used for birthing calves, and it's called J-lube, and is a powder. When you add it to water, it makes the most amazing, affordable lube ever -- great for anal sex. You could literally fill an entire bathtub with it if you wanted to, and all that lube would only cost you about $10. Don't ask me how I know this. It doesn't have any preservative so you wouldn't be able to keep it long without grapefruit seed extract or some other natural preservative, but if you bought some J-Lube, you could make it as thick or watery as you like. I find that having it thicker is better for anal. It is IMPOSSIBLE to use too much lube for anal sex. More lube! More lube! More lube! Still more!

The other tips you've gotten seem pretty reasonable (pre-stretching with butt plugs graduated in size) but I haven't seen anyone write anything about lube shooters. Lube shooters are awesome. You can use a lube shooter (or a syringe for medicine, which is not as comfortable) and "inject" some lube in the anus to lube up the inside as well as the outside.
