Don't buy it. One of the worst router out there. They even threaten to sue whoever posted bad reviews. It backfired them in the end as reddit army took over Amazon

No virus, no email from rescom, they were closed today so I'll get more info from them tomorrow. My suitemate, whose router I set up last year, also lost his access, so I am inclined to believe that it was router related.
My router was (same settings as past three years), broadcasting an SSID, on the default channel (6), had NAT and DHCP service enabled, and was using the cloned MAC address from my computer (so they couldn't compare the MAC to a list of routers' MAC). I have an ethernet cable plugged in from my assigned jack to the WAN port on the router. No other cables besides power cord.
My router is a Medialink, which isn't a big brand so I don't think any firmware solutions can help me
The most common idea is for me to clone my computer's MAC address but change the last digit, but I don't see any reason why that would work over me just cloning the entire address like I am now.
Also Rutgers is going through a similar situation right now
This was another link in /r/Netsec I browsed through, although it is 4 years old
Cheapie!
I kinda need this but pricey
Congrats on your first contest!!! one of us! one of us!
This router. My hubby and I pay for super fast internet, but our router can't handle that. So, hubby's ps4 is the only thing with full Internet speed because it is hard wired.
This is the one that I use and it is very reliable and has far range. How many people will be using this router and how much range does it need to have?
I went for the cheap solution and bought a $50 medialink router. It made no difference. I get 26 mb down right next to router, but closer to 12 mb in the rest of my house. Maybe I should give a more expensive solution a try.
[I like this one.]

This one here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3YN0Z0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Pretty basic. Laptop will be within 10 feet of it pretty much.
I'm not utilizing yet, but I do have one. It's this model:

Short answer, it is the Wi-Fi router, the reviews tell the same issue you are having. I would recommend throwing it away or giving it back and replacing it with a new router.
If you tell me your price range I can give you a couple recommendations.
No worries! And I am sorry, you say that ($50/60) in your OP.
E2500, 2700, or 32oo refurb:

If you are going to try this brand, I'd get the upgrade for ten bucks more:

This has great range, but out of price range, and single band only:

No Belkin please, sorry. (And yes I know belkin owns linksys now.)
Here we are back at the real WRT54GL again:

Fifty dollah. Still a good router, for light loads, single band only. I think I'd go with a dual band refurb myself.
ahh. i don't know to explain why the specs matter, your router is probably just no good anymore the cheap 20 dollars one work fine for a year or two but then you end up needing to reset all the time
