I picked up those battery packs. My wife and I work outside the office and we need that battery life.
If you're not worried about the age of the hardware over the next three years then I'd say go for it. I've had a Nexus 6 for about a year and a half. No burn-in issues (but I also keep the brightness pretty low most of the time) If I'm just using the phone for calls (I get only a few over the course of a day), I can get twenty-four hours out of the battery. If I'm using it for frequent messaging throughout the day, I'll get around six to eight hours. If I'm playing something like Pokemon Go non-stop, I'll get maybe two or three hours. I carry battery charger packs with me.

I had the same problem. Someone recommended me this one since it works with the G3's huge battery. I love it and use it all the time. It's very slim and and fits the size of the phone pretty well so you can hold the whole thing while it's charging pretty easily. I definetley recommend it!
