The typical house has enough non-perishable food to last a while. You might want to supplement that with freeze dried food.
Water is another thing. You probably want to have several gallons of fresh water stored. Also, iodine tablets for treating dirty water is a good idea, or a water filter pump for backpacking.
Have a large first aid kit.

A backpacking stove is also nice. I basically do a lot of backpacking, and just have lots of extra supplies that I use for that. I figure if I have enough gear for a 2 week backpacking trip, then I have enough for 2 weeks in my basement.
