I just use this It's cheap, lots of juice, and most importantly, it is light and slim. Doesn't make me feel like I'm carrying a brick.

I have an Anker astro slim 2, 4500mAh and a really good size. I usually get slightly less than 2 full charges, but I also continue to use my phone while I use the battery.

I know someone who has an EasyAcc 5000mAh one, and I've never heard them say anything bad about it, and its rated at 2.5A, although I don't know if it really hits that or not.

I have an Anker Astro Slim 2 which is pretty awesome... gives me an extra day or two of charge while on the go and it's almost exactly the same profile as the Nexus 4 so it fits behind it in a pocket without any hassle :)

This is better the case is too big for me to carry around. I just either use the battery pack it came with or this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CTK762E, which has more capacity anyway. Plus it can be sandwiched with the phone much better than the externel battery that comes with the zero lemon case

There are good battery packs that aren't bulky and can get multiple charges out of it. I have this and all it really changes is my phone feels bulkier in my hand.

This is the absolute best cellphone battery I've seen. They stand behind their product. Charges my cell twice on one charge. Not bulky, fits right behind your phone. Micro USB folds into it so you don't have to carry another cable. Lights tell you how much juice it has left.

I was specifically talking about the product linked at the top comments:
link. This battery pack appears to come with a wire attached, which you must then use adapters to connect to whatever phone. Upon second look, it also includes a USB out, which you are suggesting use of.

I still wonder if there could be a product that could do both--wireless and wired. A wireless charger with a USB out so if you did carry the battery in your pocket, purse, briefcase, backpack etc. you could quickly slip it in and know that it's charging during your commute.

Solar charger or alternatively a portable battery pack similar to this could be useful.

I have an different version of the anker battery pack and I have used it in a pinch with my pass through ego battery. Charge all batteries when you have power and hope you can get to an outlet before they all run out.
