I just researched this myself yesterday, and I'll be doing the same thing as soon as my parts are delivered. The speeds will definitely be higher with a PCI-e USB 3.0 card like the one you linked. It will work with your motherboard, although you might have to install drivers for it.
If you have an empty 5.25-inch drive bay, you could get a front panel USB 3.0 hub/card reader instead. That would give you easier access to the USB 3.0 ports than having them at the back of your case. It has a PCI-e cable for the USB 3.0 ports, and has USB 2.0 cables that plug into your motherboard's USB headers for the card reader.
