Why not another Choc Mini! Amazon has em for $100

u/harrycobear · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Noppo Choc Mini

Steelseries 6gv2

Razer Black widow

Fairly solid choices without spending too much.

Zowie EC1 Evo

Zowie FK

SS Kinzu

G400

Razer Deathaddar

MS 3.0

Again solid choices for mice.

BenQ xl2420T

Samsung S23A700D

Asus VG236H

All these monitors are 120hz.

I'd also recommend getting a decent mousemat.

SS Qck Heavy

Anything in the QCK series will do you fine.

By default, F1 to F5 are used to target self or party players. They're definitely not necessary (I personally never use them, rebinded target party1/2 to scroll up and scroll down).

I don't know if it's available in blue switches(definitely black and red), but you might want to check Noppoo Choc Mini 84 USB which is also includes the function keys. I don't own it, but I've also been shopping mechanical keyboards and it caught my attention.

New here -- Clicked around to try to figure some of this stuff out but got lost.

I have a few questions:

  1. I have a Noppoo Choco Mini with MX Cherry Red swiches seen here: https://www.amazon.com/Noppoo-84-Technology-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B0091QOCNA?th=1

How good is this keyboard? General rating or comments would be cool. Is Cherry MX Red good for typing long essays/notes? I also have this: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Mechanical-Keyboard-Tactile-High-Speed/dp/B009C98NPY -- Which I use for gaming/general purpose.

I wanted to start using my noppoo again cause I have a few long essays coming up

  2. I dont particularly like the feel of the standard keys that it comes with and was thinking about swapping them out for new keycaps. What are my options in texture for a full set of keys for this keyboard? Color scheme recommendation or is there any central hub where I can see all of my options?

Typing this suggestion from a noppo actually. Nothing too insane or over the top. But I do sincerely love this keyboard for the price I got it at.

I used a keyboard like this for years, so the function keys on that Thermaltake look wayyy too outta the way for my tastes.

The best I've found is this Noppoo Choc Mini. Don't know that I've got the green to drop on it, though. Probably just a "save up" sort of thing, considering any other nice keyboard would probably wind up being half-way to the Noppoo anyway.

I LOVE vortex and i use the Poker 3 but I really dislike the layout of the Race 3 its not what im looking for I want like the layout of the noppoo mini https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Cherry-Switches/dp/B0091QOCNA or the plum nano with no spacing between the keys </3 I cant find either of those keyboards though for purchase and I can not find the layout of that keyboard anywhere

I'm looking for an 84 key keyboard, I prefer the F keys to line up perfectly with the number keys. Does anyone know any models that look similar to
https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Cherry-Switches/dp/B0091QOCNA
or
https://www.amazon.com/DREVO-Gramr-Tenkeyless-Mechanical-Switch-White/dp/B075F1DB5X/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_lp_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=GPR8JFKQ0CQM5CYW8A3V&th=1

I cannot find any keyboards that use MX cherry switches, price isn't as much of an issue and i'm hesitant to go with the Drevo model as there isn't a Red switch alternative and am unfamiliar with the brand of switch

My Noppoo died and the seller is no longer in business and it was the best keyboard i've ever used, I'd appreciate any replies

I'm aware of the Poker models and such however they eliminate the F keys completely and I would enjoy having those FeelsBadMan

As far as mice, I used to use a naga back in cata/mop when binds were getting to be like 60+ including arena macro's and such. However, since blizz got rid of most abilities I have ditched the naga and I just use the SteelSeries Rival - very comfortable gaming mouse with two buttons on the side. I highly recommend this mouse, plenty of players use naga but for me personally it's an overwhelming amount of potential binds at this point.

Imo the best mmo keyboard to help out with some additional binds is the noppoo choc mini with cherry mx red switches. It's a mini keyboard and the F keys are located directly above the numbered keys so they're great for binds - after I ditched my naga I picked up this keyboard and those F keys are plenty to be able to comfortably bind everything without having the naga overkill.

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions please let me know!

Oh, I see. Thanks, but one more thing. Do you have any recommendations as far as keyboards go? I was thinking of getting this one. But, since it's my first "real" keyboard, I figured there may be brands I'm unaware existed.

A keyboard with the same layout as the [Noppo Choc Mini](https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Cherry-Switches/dp/B0091QOCNA) that is NOT 10-key-less (i.e. includes a number pad)

This product does not exist anywhere. A keyboard where the F keys line up with the Number keys but also has a number pad.

I'm using the noppo choc mini to type this, and absolutely love it.

It's durable, slick, and just looks good. Plus, it's on sale right now (i got mine for like $130)

Also op - start off small if you have to. If you are getting stressed , start with 1-3 macros and work up from there.

Future leveling, NEVER EVER click, always keybind your abilities. So when you hit max level, you won't have to learn it all.

If you have anymore questions, ask me and i'll help you out bro.

edit:

ALSOOOO for the heck of it, they make smaller keyboards ex: http://www.amazon.com/Noppoo-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Switches/dp/B0091QOCNA

Might help if you have issues or smaller hands but i'd only get them once you've given it a few months of playing.

u/GSlayerBrian · 1 pointr/AskReddit

It's not a no-name :'(

And mine was $67. They retailed for around $85 in the US when I ordered it, but nowhere had any in stock with blues. So I bought three of them via Taobao from China. Used one myself, let my mother use the other, and flipped the last one on ebay for a small profit.

Also one with Reds is only $104.99 with free shipping on Amazon.

Not to mention it is the only USB keyboard you'll ever find with true NKRO.

And a big reason I selected the Choc Mini is because of its layout. Three things in particular:

  • It situates the F-row directly above the num row.
  • It has dedicated arrow keys while still retaining a tiny footprint.
  • There's no uneven spacing between any of the keys.

As far as I've found, there are no other keyboards which have all three of those features.
u/XANi_ · 1 pointr/learndota2

It looks like they fixed that in razer tartarus, at least from the picture hand rest looks a bit smaller. but lack of regulation is definitely a bad thing.

When I used n52 I just used 2 rightmost buttons of lowest row as modifiers and it was working fine, however I feel that for DOTA it just have too few keys.

I used logitech g13 for a bit, but to be honest it wasnt that much more ergonomical (i preferred n52) than just a good keyboard and this one have f1-f12 keys close to rest of the keys so it can be used without moving fingers too much
