I'm basically in the same boat as you.

Closest I've found in my searches seems to be the HP Omen 32".

It has everything in your list except for G-Sync, decent price.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find any decent reviews... I'm waiting to see if anything else in the market comes along or the prices drop more.

On Amazon for the same price (324.99) but will ship in 1-2 months.

What upcoming tech will improve the 3-way we have going? Like have the best of everything? MicroLED?

Also, what do you think of this HP Omen 32" (prices seem to vary a lot); I was really close to buying it: https://www.amazon.com/HP-32-inch-Adjustment-FreeSync-Technology/dp/B01J90PKPG

I have too many monitors, that I can't use/don't have space for anymore.

1x Used Acer G257HU (24 inch)

2x Barely Used Sceptre C278W-1920R curved monitors (27 inch)

1x Used Toshiba PA3885U-1LC2 (21.5 inch) - this I assume is barely worth anything

1x Used HP Omen 32 Freesync (32 inch)

Thanks for the help here in advance.

Hey, First time builder. I am starting to look at BAPC and decided to just start taking a look at monitors. Looks like there are so many choices that it seems best to get this out of the way. Anywho, Im just looking to see how realistic my search is for a sexy monitor at a decent price:

  1. ultra-wide, 27", up to 4k
  2. Minimum bezels
  3. Curved(?)... probably too expensive.

Other than these aesthetics, Im not sure what else to look for...

  • G/free-sync?
  • Whats a good response time?
  • Whats a good refresh rate?

Purpose of the PC will be casual gaming, light productivity, watching shows. Id love to find something around $200. But I would go up to $400. (This might be overkill considering the PC budget will be $800-1000ish, If I can make it 4k compatible with decent FPS at this price point)

Tell me whats wrong with these examples:

Assuming low response time and not 4k?

    Is 60hz RR any good?

Lastly, 5ms RT when many monitors have 1ms?

I might just be over thinking it all but please let me know how my expectations are and if any example is actually a good monitor.

    Thanks for reading =D

> One is HP Omen which is an all in one computer and not a monitor.

BTW the Omen is a monitor not a full computer https://www.amazon.com/OMEN-HP-32-inch-QHD-Display/dp/B01J90PKPG

There have been good deals at Costco for it as well.

For those requirements, I like the HP Omen 32 (the original one). 32", 2560x1440, 75Hz refresh, AMD Freesync. Can be had for just under $400 on Amazon.

u/Kronos_Selai · 1 pointr/buildapc

The only problem is that 1440p 75hz monitors are mostly/all? Freesync. So if you go for a 1070 you won't be able to use that unless Nvidia were to ever allow it :/

It might be worthwhile if you haven't purchased the GPU yet to wait for the Vega release which is...a week away? If the Vega release is half decent, you'd no doubt be able to get a 1070 level GPU for less money and be able to use Freesync which is much cheaper than Gsync.

If you already have the 1070, that kinda sucks not being able to utilize the Freesync but it's not the end of the world.

I'm probably just thinking of this monitor, which makes me drool a bit each time I see it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J90PKPG/?tag=pcpapi-20

Chiming in as someone who was in a similar boat (1080 instead of 1070), I just pulled the trigger on the
HP Omen 32". 1440p, 75hz. Hoping it'll live up to the reputation in terms of resolution and color.

What sold me was realizing all the negative reviews are for the 35" ultrawide. Since Amazon has mixed the reviews together, it makes the 32 look meh and the 35 look great.

Annoying

This one has good reviews and you can get it pretty cheap refurbished

If you're not dead set on 144 hz, I'd highly recommend This HP Omen 32".

I got one for my build I did about 6 months ago and it's amazing. 75 hz is plenty good for me and the 1440p resolution on a screen that big makes everything beautiful. So, for an extra $50 you can get almost twice the sreen surface area and 75 hz which is still really nice.
