if you aren't good at working with bamboo, look for loose screws or nails at a construction site to use instead

If you use a q-tip/cotton wool bud then you have wet ear wax. If you need to use an earstick to scrape then you have dry ear wax, or 'ear shit' as the Japanese call it. Boogers are also known as 'nose shit' while eye sleep is called 'eye shit'. Eye shit you not.

A doctor stateside told me you should never put liquid in your ear... so I've only done it once since (it was 6 years ago). But all through my youth my mother used to "boil my ears with peroxide" pretty regularly, and my hearing is still great in my late 30s, so... I'd probably just ignore it, but I think using the Korean earpick is better, anyway. It's fun to scoop out clumps of earwax. :).
