I have this, it works my ps4, cable box, tv, and using the learning feature, my sound bar. It is an officiallt liscened PS4 product. I highly recommend it

I made the mistake of getting one to have my wife use it, and the disconnects and other random crap it does makes it even more annoying.
I think the PDP remote is good. There's 2 versions though. This one on Amazon is newer and fixes a few annoying problems with the original, but they look exactly the same. The boxes for the newer ones say increased battery life on the front.

Just buy her this, it'll be more familiar: PlayStation 4 Universal Media Remote. If your TV supports HDMI-CEC, enable it, that way she can just hit the PS button on the remote control to turn on the TV and switch to the proper input. Other than that if she can operate a standard DVD player with left, right, up, down and enter she should be able to find the Netflix app in TV and Video.

old or new. Funny enough, they're the same price now!
I bought this remote so my wife would feel more comfortable when we cut the cord and switched to vue and it’s worked really well. I’d say she had a two day learning curve at most.
Just the Officially Licensed model. If it craps out I'll buy the smaller one that came out, but I'm fairly happy with it.

It's not perfect, but it works for me. Though I freely admit that I use my PS3 more for blu-ray playback and such. Not a fan of the changes they made for the PS4 control setup!

I'll just leave you the link anyway; controlling media without dedicated playback buttons is so outdated... almost as annoying as changing batteries. (shudders)
