I highly suggest These. I pen in all the things that are mostly permanent, then pencil in things that change a lot. it makes erasing a ton easier after a long rest.

I am in love with the Pilot Frixion pens! I have a black and a blue one 0.7 (0.35 mm) and they are amazing with my Leutchtturm1917 dotted. And I have a few cough of their Friction Colors for doodling / creativity. Oh and a pen loop to make sure I always have a pen!
Goddamn Erasable Pens
The pens in question. So, 12 bucks, you get 8 pens and I can get one moderately intricate queen out of a pen. Or a twin with one inch lines quilted on them. Seriously, love them. Different colours means I'll always have a pen to work with whatever fabric. Black fabric? BREAK OUT THE RED! It shows up as a purple glossy sorta line on my machine :D
