I use this SMA-male to UHF-male (PL-259) connector cable for my BF-F8s and other Baofengs. Here's a cheaper one that I started with. It'll be fine if you're not moving the radio around much but I wanted something a little heavier duty so I switched to the first one.

It might help to have a right-angle adapter to keep the cord from pinching.

I don't use them on the car because it scratches the paint, but I put a mag-mount antenna on a metal cookie sheet in the second floor window so I can talk on the handheld inside the house. Attaching the magnet to metal is necessary because it provides an inductively-coupled ground plane. Car body or cookie sheet works; metal door frame on a building will also work.

You didn't specify frequency so I'll assume 5.8ghz. Given your different connector types on each end, I could recommend maybe something like this for the transmitter:

and this for the receiver:

The key idea is you want a Clover Leaf (3 lobe) on the transmitter and Scew Planar (4 lobe) on the receiver. You also have to match RHCP or LHCP (which ways the lobes lean).

This 90 degree adapter

could also be useful given your vtx location.

I haven't seen a VTX with a right angle soldered to it like that, especially not a TS5823 (which is what that VTX looks like), usually those are adaptors like this one, and you can unscrew it and put your antenna there.

Can you send a pic of the VTX?
