Yes, tin (Sn) is not aluminum (Al)

From here (http://www.infomine.com/investment/metal-prices/tin/) , it looks like tin is at least an order of magnitude more expensive than Al. It's not particularly strong compared to Al, which can be heat treated and hardened in a variety of ways. So I'd say people don't usually make things out of tin.
