SDHC cards are readily available (and affordable) at 32GB and SDXC cards can be found for ~50 for 64GB with 128GB cards retailing a little north of $100. Most modern cameras are SDXC capable.

Are you sure you are not just trying to insert it in the wrong way?
Could you provide pictures of the system and card? In the regular old 3DS, 3DS XL & 2DS you don't have to remove anything to fit an SD Card, as long as it is the correct type
If it is fighting you, most probably you just have to turn it 180 degrees and try again.
Only the "new" models, meaning, new nintendo 3ds, new nintendo 3ds xl & new nintendo 2ds hide the sd card slot inside the back plate and you have to remove it with a number 0 screwdriver; but that doesn't sound like its the case for you.
I have the GoPro HD Hero 2 outdoors edition, this edition will come with a lot of what you need, like sticky mounts to mount to your helmet. Another accessorie i suggest getting is a pole mount from www.gopole.com this is the classic mount for snowboarding, it allows you to film yourself or turn it around and film friends to make those nice edits. I probably wouldn't have gone on my longest hike yet, though, without a little help. My good friend planned out the route and it ended up being a 27 mile trek. I never would have planned anything that long for myself, at least not for a day hike (it took us 12 hours). But it turned out to be one of the best days of my life! :D
