A 280 will be great for that extra power. and its only about 20-30 dollars more. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IZXOW80

280 on Amazon with $20 rebate @ $170

and the i3 if you arn't on a budget. Leave the FX-6300 alone.

This is what I have, the overclock edition https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-11230-00-20G/dp/B00IZXOW80

But not the x that you're looking for. Are you only interested in the x version?

Will this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IZXOW80/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER[1] be compatible with my build?: AMD FX-4300 Quad-Core, 600W Corsair Power Supply, MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard

Decided to get this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IZXOW80/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and signed up for the credit card and got 70 bucks off the purchase price

Alright, thanks so much :) Looks like I'll be going for a R9 280

My graphics card is currently crapping out on me and I don't know a thing about computers. Here the are specs. Here is the motherboard . Would upgrading to this power supply and this graphics card be possible? Sorry for the loaded question. I didn't think this would be deserving of a post.

Thanks for your response. I have been doing some research and came across this deal: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IZXOW80/ref=cm_sw_su_dp. Good upgrade for the price? Will it fit in my case/mobo? dimensions of GPU are: 6.5 inches x 11.25 inches x 3.5 inches

maybe worth considering at the price amazon has at the moment @$200

At that price range AMD cards will probably give the best performance. The 270x is good, but I think you can find a better card for the same price.

Looking at /r/buildapcsales and /r/hardwareswap here are some I found:

Ebay posting, but it's an r9 280x for $200

Amazon has the R9 280 for $200

R9 280x off r/hardwareswap for $150

Alright, I'll open up the case tomorrow and poke around.

Another noob question, if you don't mind: I'm finding lots of differently priced options for video cards. For example, the Radeon R9 280: This vs. this. Are there significant differences, or should I just get the cheapest?
