Through a combination of laziness and other commitments (watching my son while my wife was out of town), I was only able to do my swims this week - no runs or bikes (it was a "rest week" with only short workouts scheduled anyway).

Not thrilled about that - however, one of the reasons I had to miss a bike ride was to go check out a used bike that I wound up purchasing. So I'm finally the proud owner of a road bike! No more hybrid riding for me!

Now I'm just trying to get that bike "ride-ready" - clipless pedals (which I've never used before), a bike computer (unlike my old bike, I think I'm going to put a computer on this one which has cadence measurement. Anyone have a recommendation? Right now I'm leaning towards this one), and a saddle bag with tire wrenches, spare tubes and a co2 inflator. Hoping to be able to take it out on the road later this week.

I went with the Sigma 1609 https://uedata.amazon.com/Sigma-1609-Cadence-Bicycle-Speedometer/dp/B0030CHBM0

The only thing a would say, the 1609 does not have a backlight that stay constantly lit, they make more expensive models that do.

Do you one better. Price is pretty good too...

Buttons are super simple, have never had a problem with it even when wet, cadence feature is nice, but probably could have skipped it.

I use the following:
click me!

It is wired, which i wanted so i didn't have to worry about the signal getting lost, plus it has cadence which is good for training. You can save 2 profiles as well so it will work on 2 bikes. For $30 its awesome.
