You'd need something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Silhouette-Cameo/dp/B005Y1CPSU

That or a really steady hand.

I bought my girlfriend a Silhouette Cameo many moons ago to make $$$ decals that she creates in Illustrator. When my compressor arrives I'll definitely have her make masks and stencils.

This is very niche, but I would buy a Cameo which is an electronic machine you use for papercrafting. This bad boy will cut out HUNDREDS of the same shape if you ask it to and works on paper and vinyl. I've wanted one forever, but they're over £200 which is just insane.

Failing that, I'd blitz the bejesus out of my friend's wishlists, because if I won the lottery I'd share the love.

I want this thing for craft purposes that cuts out shapes you can draw/program using a computer. There are cheaper versions out there which aren't digital (you buy stencils and push them through the cutting machine), but this swanky one on Amazon would make card-making so easy!

Like you I can't quite justify it right now though. Got an overdraft to pay off first!

Silhouette Cameo. By the way, you should reply directly to me instead of to your comment so I get the notification.

This Silhouette Cameo cutting thing. You can make all sorts of things like those vinyl letters people use for wall decorations, labels, cut designs in paper and fabric and lots of other crafty things. I think it's really neat, and would ultimately be a lot cheaper than purchasing the things it makes individually. I'd be okay with not ever getting it, because it's not a necessity.

Thanks. I made my own stencil using the Silhouette Cameo on some sticky backed vinyl. I tried hand cutting stencils, but I could never get the detail or they would etching cream would bleed.

It connects to the computer and you can design stuff in the software it comes with. Supposedly it can cut vinyl, paper, card stock etc. This particular item was made with vinyl.

Yeah dude its just vinyl, I buy rolls of vinyl from ebay and then cut it with my cameo its just the peeling it and sticking it on that takes time.

IMO cameo silhouette is the better machine and is in the same price point.

https://www.amazon.com/Silhouette-Cameo-Electronic-Cutting-Tool/dp/B005Y1CPSUCameo is actually made by Graphtec. I started out on a cameo and found it very easy to learn. You're going to waste a bunch of vinyl in the beginning but that's normal. If you find you need to cut bigger pieces of vinyl you can pick up a UScutter SC series.
