Get yourself an Executioner Pro. I keep it by the bed and if I hear one of those fuckers buzzing around I wave it about until it makes contact with a satisfying bright blue spark and a loud SNAP. End of mosquito.
The bug zapper tennis racquet is very satisfying, gives a nice audible and visual zap when you connect. It just stuns those flies though, you have to follow up and squish them.
Edit : Looks like they upped the size and power since I bought mine, here's the new PRO version
We get them every summer too. Pouring bleach down every drain helps immensely. Wine/vinegar traps catch some of em, the rest get blown to hell with the Executioner Pro

I have one of these and it's fucking excellent right out of the box. Bugs fucking explode when it touches them, usually with a loud CRACK.

I cannot recommend this enough. Will only stun the big wasps, but then you can go in for the kill (stamp) or cook (electrocuting them to death).
