I replaced the Deck in my '06 myself, I threw out the lameass cd player, and put in a pioneer bluetooth deck using an adaptor kit: Here's the 3 items you'll need. (note, you can also get double din adaptor kits, and waaaay better decks than the pioneer one I linked, I'm just being lazy) the parts will cost you $150 US, and if you don't want to install it yourself it'll cost another 100 or so for install at a car audio place. (I did it myself, just solder up the harness and google how to take your dash apart) (the entire audio deck portion of the dash is held in by 1 screw behind the central HVAC knob)

and No, there we're no codes required. I've also done this in a 2002 corolla, but that's a different generation than yours.

you can buy din mounts for about any car out there. Buy the din mount and then mount plastic to the face. That way you aren't attaching anything that can't be undone later.

For example if you owned a Carolla:

I'm about to go crazy with this simple aftermarket stereo replacement, so hopefully someone can help me out.

In my 2005 Toyota Corolla, the sound was very poppy and crackly, and I also wanted AUX and bluetooth options, so I got an aftermarket stereo. I wasn't looking for terribly high quality, just something that with Aux without the crackles, so I got this cheap one.

I used a dash kit, although the fit wasn't perfect so I wasn't able to fit the ISO brackets on there, though I'm assuming the dash kit is just for fitting issues, and would have no affect on power/performance.

Throughout its use, it would irregularly reset on ignition, resetting the clock and presets. No apparent rhyme or reason to when it would do this, but obviously never while I was driving and it was already on. Then one day, I turned on my car, and got nothing. It wouldn't turn on at all. The only signal of power was a tiny LED barely on in the back you could see at night. I undo the wiring, find nothing wrong, the fuses are all OK, so I plug it back in and it turns back on for whatever reason. For the next couple of weeks, it sporadically resets the presets, until it finally turns off again. I look at it with my mechanic, and because the wiring looks alright, we decide it's a faulty stereo.

So I replace that one with a very similar [build] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XR3ZLJF/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and just replace the stereo itself. Within the next two days, it goes out just like the old one. So I redo the wiring with the new wires that came with the old stereo, and we test the Ohms with a multimeter from the wiring harness to the stereo for each wire, and they all test OK. This time I meticulously do wiring, using butt connectors and crimping rather than twisting and taping.

That was just a few days ago, and then this morning after getting gas, I turned my car back on, and the the clock and presets had reset, so I have a good feeling it's going to go out again.

Is there ANY possible issue besides getting two cheap faulty stereos in a row? Could there be a compatibility issue with this kind of stereo, even though it's said it should work with my car? I would think that there is an issue with the internal wiring of the car, but the factory stereo never had power issues, with the exception of sounding extremely crackly and poppy. I've heard the battery could be an issue, but we recently replaced the battery (could there be an issue there, with improperly replacing a battery somehow?)

Please help with any possible advice, this has taken over my time for such a supposedly easy replacement.
