This was me. My best friend from across the street, who ironically turned out to be gay, gave me some kind of anniversary edition of Penthouse that was just 90s as all hell. The thought that there would be porn on computers one day had occurred to exactly no one at the time.

I remember the first time I ever saw a photo on a computer screen. I was in a JC Penny or something like that, I think. They had a demo model computer out. It was amazing. Before that I'd always used a T.I. something-or-other that was just a keyboard that you plugged into your television. It had no memory except for a cartridge slot, and I had no cartridges, but I did have a big fat book of BASIC programs that I would re-enter any time that I wanted to play them. I'd spend hours punching in code and end up bored with the game inside of 10 minutes. There absolutely were not pictures on that thing. It could barely handle squares haha... After that, there was the Commodore 64. That thing was amazing after my T.I. I could actually save my work and my BASIC programming got more comprehensive as a result. Unfortunately, since I now had games on disk, I didn't program nearly as often.

It was years before I ever saw anything resembling pornography. I think the first time I ever saw a boob on a computer, it was a shitty pixelated cartoon boob in some kind of weird pornographic video game my dad had download on our 14.4 external modem to our 486. That was back when he was still using BBSes, before Prodigy or AOL. He ended working tech support for Prodigy so we had that when I was pretty young and we got it for free, and then he went to work for AOL and he's been there ever since.

It's weird the things you can find yourself waxing nostalgic about. I didn't mean to go off for so long, I just got thinking about all this old shit.
