I ended up buying this one that's shaped like a giant Switch game! It holds 30 games and doesn't put the game cards in little slots that you have to pull them out of to identify.
Pretty happy with it.

You're absolutely right. That's probably the best case to get if you have a lot of carts, I just didn't like the thickness. Even though it really isn't very thick for what it is.
The one that inspired me to do the project was this one. It is just too big and thick for what it carries.
