If you remove it from the orange sleeve I think it's less than an oz. I weigh it with my cook pot but if you need an exact let me know.

I've always done fine with a bic lighter myself.
Not wind or waterproof; better off with something like this. Still if I could carry just one fire starter, it'd be a ferro rod.

Also, be aware I've had the fuel boil out of lighters over time from heat, and on one occasion had the interior of my car get hot enough to detonate one, scattering its plastic bits all over the passenger cab.
