I'm right there with you. I honestly expected a bit more protection out of the sleeves (cloudy 3mm stuff), but the water seems to have come right in through the outside seams of each sleeve.. Looking at the result, they were about as effective as wrapping each record in paper towel.
I realize now that I cheaped out on the ones I have (I was fooled by the positive reviews), but if I knew that some other sleeves would definitely have kept water and moisture out it'd have definitely justified the cost of better ones.
Nothing truly one of a kind was lost, just many expensive records in brand new and immaculate condition. I can buy most of them back at 3-4 times the cost I'd originally payed for them, but there's just so much money down the drain in that direction that it's not really reasonable.
Mofi is the one to get. Just use that.

I had some of the smaller ones and my copy of Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique would not fit no matter how hard I tried because it is a double gatefold (even though it is only one LP). It fits in one of the ones in the link above.

I use vinyl styl, they are pretty good and fit double lp's. Also, the price isn't too bad

I'm looking into buying some outer sleeves for my records. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions that aren't to expensive (I'm in Canada so most of my vinyl stuff is imported).

I bought a vinyl styl 50 pack at my local record shop and they're as see through as they come, I suppose. Never thought about this though..
