Thanks for your advice. I went ahead and bought these last night. Think they will do? Also, what difference does having your scope mounted higher make? Just preference?

Hopefully either one of these will work!
Loosen them (usually remove the top half), put scope in it's place, replace tops, and tighten down. Most scopes will fit 25 or 30mm rings, and the one I linked can fit 30mm, or 25mm with an insert. The reviews on it aren't great, though, so you may want to go with low scope rings and a picatinny rail mount instead.
Scopes don't usually have built in rail mounts, so scope rings are a necessity.
