yay, someone unacquainted with watchmen!! i love explaining this to people.

first of all, it is important to know which version of the movie to watch. there are three versions, and they are all on amazon prime video:

the theatrical version is 2h 42mins, the director’s cut is 3hr 6mins, and the ULTIMATE cut is 3h 35mins.

i would recommend watching the ultimate edition, BUT you only need to do this once, for reasons that will be apparent after you’ve finished it.

the theatrical cut is, imo, completely pointless. don’t bother. the directors cut is the way to go; i’ve seen the movie six times and that one is the best mix between long enough and not too long.

once you’ve seen the ultimate version, read the book! it is the definitive watchmen experience and is an incredibly deep and well-crafted piece of literature. i finished it and then immediately restarted it to catch all the little details i missed the first time around. here’s the link!

enjoy :)

>Alan: Yes: cherish the astonishing and unlikely world that we all exist in; try to live with love and without fear; and anybody who has anything to do with any of these shitty Watchmen travesties, even as a member of the audience, will be dragged screaming to hell by their nipples. Peace out.

That's from January 2018, it's either about Doomsday Clock or the TV show

I have this one. It's the only copy I've ever owned, but it's nice. It's large, but it's not ridiculously large. It also has a bunch of concept art and other stuff at the rear. Overall I'm pleased with it.

Does the Watchmen Deluxe edition have the same exact contents as the 2014 paperback? Talking about these two: Deluxe vs 2014 paperback. I know Amazon lists them having the same amount of pages, but those aren't always accurate..

I can't help you with finding Watchmen Deluxe on IST, but I can give you Amazon's listing for it.

Not a bad price, either.

The original story is just 12 issues collected into one book. Here is the paperback, but I'll personally recommend the Deluxe Edition if you want to spend a bit more. It's bigger and hardback and has some supplemental material.

Wow I have a ton of awesome recommendations, but first and foremost is the Sandman saga by Neil Gaiman or really anything distributed under Vertigo, they publish all DC comic's darker novels...

Also Watchmen, a classic by Alan Moore...

Johnny The Homicidal Maniac (JTHM) by Johnen Vasquez

Blankets by Craig Thompson...

Scott Pilgrim series...

Fahrenheit 451 graphic novel adaptation...

Ordered this Watchmen Deluxe Edition today. Got it for 1600 bucks before the price went up.

Can anyone tell the difference between The Watchmen Deluxe Edition and International Edition?

I'm looking to order one in the UK. I already know the Inernational Edition is more or less the same apart form the cover, but can anyone tell me what the deluxe edition offers and if it is worth the price?

While you don’t really need to read or watch the original (as others have said), I strongly recommend buying the original graphic novel because it’s so good!

Actually they did.

It was four years after the movie so I guess people don't know about it.
