No, it isn't, and here's why:
This is $6, weighs less than a gram, has no moving parts to break and is smaller than a stick of gum. Much like the HDD shown, it too requires a laptop or desktop to be useful. This is handy.
This is $179, which is more than the DJI unit, but it has a built in card reader AND a battery so you can use it in the field AND wifi so you don't even need to dig out a cable when you get home. That is handy.
If you want a 2tb external drive, here ya go - It's $70 (almost half off the DJI price), save yourself some time and just write DJI on with a sharpie.

It's true that larger SSDs will get higher benchmark scores but I doubt you'd notice the difference in everyday usage.
As long as you don't run low on space 128GB will be fine.
While 2230 drives are not common now I think there will be more on the market with quasi upgradeable Surfaces' and other devices using them.

I've been using this on a recent three week holiday and I highly recommend it. I didn't bring a laptop with me :)
Most of the negative reviews on Amazon relate to trying to use it as a streaming media device which it doesn't do well. As a backup device for SD/microSD cards it works excellent.
But, I would recommend not wiping and reusing the memory cards so that you have TWO copies of your photos and videos for redundancy in case something happens to one or the other.

Or if you are a tinkerer another option would be to get a raspberry pi which runs off 5v (can be 12v with the right adapters and converters). From there can enable the wifi onboard to be an AP and setup a media center/stream box.

This is my somewhat minimal setup. My most minimal setup replaces the MBP with one of these. With regards to your question about storage, I think it'll come down to how much you plan to shoot, but 2TB should be plenty unless you're timelapsing.
Other than that, I have a power bank (since my camera USB charges), one spare battery, and a pair of 128GB SD cards.
I wouldn't worry about taping logos up as a safety thing. I only do it because I don't want to advertise for Sony.

Well you could carry a RaspberryPi DIY solution but I’m kinda worried about the transfer speed (it will take some time to be backed up).
For SD cards I use this WD My Passport Wireless Pro [https://www.amazon.com/Passport-Wireless-Portable-External-Drive/dp/B01F5LVTO4] but I haven’t seen anything like that for Hard drives other than the docking solution that was recommended below.
I would still do a DIY solution with an 8TB HDD from WD, the ones rated for server usage.
