I've never found a cable that would make the conversion from AppleTV to VGA consistently. Even the adapters are only so-so. Had a job where I needed to make this conversion with 100 or so AppleTVs to several different types and brands of projectors. This cheap looking box worked in every situation.

This is the one I've been using. Cheap Chinese crap? You betcha. But does it handle the DC's weird pixel clock in the proper aspect ratio without any extra perceptible lag? Damn skippy.
