Are you sure? Let's check then shall we? For fair comparison ignoring discounts because all the graphics cards seem to be on discount. A few notes, you don't need to buy the highest end models of these cards, nor do you need to buy an aftermarket card. I only searched for the RX 480, it is cheaper compared to the GTX 1060 but even a quick search for the GTX 1060 at least in the US shows certain models at around the same price of the Xbox One S: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=gtx+1060&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Agtx+1060

Xbox One S: 239.78

RX 480 Ref. 8GB : 209.99

RX 480 8GB Sapphire : 234.99 - This is an aftermarket card so you are already paying a premium and you don't need this to reach that level of performance, actually, it's very possible DF is using reference cards. Oh, wait, this are 8GB models and there are 4GB cards, that although might perform slightly worse in memory bandwidth restricted scenarios it won't be a real issue in many games and will reach performance levels within margin of error in comparison with 8GB.

RX 480 4GB Sapphire : 209.99, aftermarket card

RX 480 4GB Asus : 214.98, aftermarket card

Now, this is UK. Let's go to the US, don't even need to bother showing the 4GB models.

Xbox One S : 258.00 - cheapest New

RX 480 8GB Sapphire : 249.99 - aftermarket card

RX 480 8GB Sapphire : 259.99 - aftermarket card with a better overclock than above

u/EBOLANIPPLES · 4 pointsr/buildapc

It's not in stock but it's £212.99 on Amazon UK.

u/GamingWithRyan · 3 pointsr/nvidia

Good stuff. I bought the XFX figuring that reviews on build quality were pretty good and it was the cheapest version. Some of the other options were overclocked slightly higher, but for the price difference, the performance gain was to small to justify. I upgraded from a GTX 670 so all versions are going to be a massive boost regardless of which I chose.

Edit Just looked up how the GTX 750 Ti compares to my 670 and the 480, I was not expecting it to be that large of a difference! That must have felt glorious the first time you loaded something up.

Rx 480 in stock on amazon. i dont know the qualifications for free one day shipping but i have free one day shipping in los angeles

u/The5thHorseman666 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I was looking at this one https://www.amazon.com/XFX-RADEON-Graphics-Backplate-RX480M8BFA6/dp/B01H3P9CKI which is advertised as being custom tuned and overclocked already. TBH I wasn't planning on overclocking at all. Well I swapped out the motherboard and used amazon. I'm not gonna worry about the rebate. Plus that's in stock when the gigabyte still hadn't shipped yet. Plus it has m.2 if i ever decide to use that. But better quality control? 19% of reviews are 1 star. Gotta make sure I build outside pc first. Too much to ask for a dedicate power button on mobo that cheap? Oh and only 3 sata ports? That will leave me 0 room to add a third harddrive if i ever wanted too without first switching to m.2 ssd. I think i may have made a mistake. Edit nvm it has 4 and intel lan maybe you were right

Also, how would you say this card looks compared to the other 480s?

u/Elderbrute · 1 pointr/HardwareSwapUK

There is an XFX one on amazon for £250 and several sapphire ones in the warehouse again for £250.

Still not in your budget but https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Computer-Components/XFX-RX-480M8BFA6-RADEON-CORE-DESIGN/B01H3P9CKI/ref=sr_1_101?ie=UTF8&qid=1495318619&sr=8-101&keywords=rx480

You can get aftermarket cards far cheaper of course.

u/tielknight · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Amazon has the listing up for the XFX 480 if you want to follow it : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H3P9CKI

u/defiancecp · 1 pointr/Amd

240 for the one I bought for my custom loop.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H3P9CKI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's non-reference from the perspective of being "OC Tuned" or whatever, but reference from the perspective of the board layout which I assume you're interested in. Can confirm it mates with the ekwb block nicely.

(edit: I said xspc, should have said ekwb)

Is my card broken...?

I got this RX480 and I noticed something odd...the portion that plugs into the PCI-E x 16 slot has a bunch of golden "pins" (not sure what else to call them...

Most of these pins have a "point" at the top, but two of them, one on each side (not in the same relative positions) do not. Is this normal, or is something off...? I can provide pictures if that would help.

u/Goken81 · 1 pointr/Alienware

Try this one, amazon says it's 10"...

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H3P9CKI/ref=psdc_284822_t2_B01KDYKA8E

Not sure either will fit though, hate to say that. :(

You will need to get specific with your seller. Good luck, I plan to have the same dilemma on my R9 370 equipped x51r2 before very long. :D

u/KUDEM · 1 pointr/Alienware

so this card with fit and run on the 330 wat https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H3P9CKI/ref=psdc_284822_t2_B01KDYKA8E

u/tmac2372 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Very nice. One more suggestion too..idk how set you are on getting that GTX 1060. An RX 480 will perform identically and is actually cheaper than the 1060. Heres a link for one if you're interested in saving a little cash.

u/TheDude77 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Not to beat a dead horse, but I'd really appreciate others feedback on these two options:

$280 1060

$305 rx480

Both prices seem really good (for a Canadian), but I am leaning more towards the Rx480 despite the higher price since I already have a freesync monitor. Am I making the right choice?

Also, is the blower edition of the XFX RX480 OK, or should I be targeting something else?

u/Mashedpotatoebrain · 1 pointr/buildapc

Would This video card be any better then the graphics card in your list? Or pretty much the same? The only reason I ask is because its $120 off on amazon and it makes it the same price as the one you listed.

u/dapperjabber · 1 pointr/buildapc

Oh absolutely thank you! Looks like if I sport just a little more, I can go with the 480!

I better start saving up.

u/onionjuice · 1 pointr/Amd

the microcenter ad someone posted here. I can't find it for some reason now.

Sapphire, VisionTek and XFX were selling for $250 while rest of them were selling for $240.

People have already bought XFX cards on Amazon ($250) and they are all sold out now for regular price. Card is now selling for $375 lol (people buying them all up and reselling basically)

Here's another for $375

I didn't even know these were beginning to be sold yet, so no worries waiting for the price to drop from this guy.

u/x_Sligh_x · 1 pointr/buildapc

I would (personally) opt for a new card, that's a generation newer. They're more efficient, and I don't know what your power supply is, but whatever it is, it'd handle the 1060 easier than the 970. The 10 series cards are also (theoretically) more future proof as they're more optimized for dx12 as that becomes more widely used.

Edit: Or, if your power supply could handle it, grab an 8GB Rx480 and be better than both of them for less than the 1060.

u/charlescote79 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Ok so you mean not 'blower' versions like this one?https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H3P9CKI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3P1IKSBEL07E2&coliid=I2NN8V1L8LNZSH&psc=1

Why? Does it get too hot? Doesn't perform as well?

u/Rustybot · 0 pointsr/Games

At some point we need to have a discussion as a community about what price we use when we talk about graphics cards and equivalence & power/$.

AMD RX 480 MSRP Pricing

The AMD RX 480 reference card is MSRP'ed to retailers at

  • Any brand reference - 4GB: $199 MSRP
  • Any brand reference - 8GB: $240 New
  • XFX Overclocked- 8GB: $270 New

    (Sources: NewEggBusiness.com)

Now these MSRP selling points are not the "price" of the card, only the MSRP used for retailers. The market rate price on amazon, etc, which is controlled by supply and demand and free market pricing, is a much different story. Cards sold at MSRP are purchased and resold on the free market unless this 'arbitrage' is controlled. Currently AMD does not enforce any MAP or other price controls on stores.

    AMD RX 480 Market Pricing:

  • Any brand reference - 4GB: $? Note: Impossible to find this card for sale!
  • XFX reference - 8GB: $375 Amazon
    Amazon
  • Any brand reference, not XFX - 8GB: $325 New Amazon $375 'Used' Amazon marketplace
  • XFX OC - 8GB: $370 Amazon -

Note how the OC XFX has elevated the cost of the stock XFX card even though it is functionally the same as the Sapphire/MSI etc stock reference cards. Demand and pricing don't follow logical feature comparisons.

Let's pull in the Nvidia cards share we?

    GTX 1080

  • Any brand founders reference - GTX 1080: $699 MSRP NVIDIA
  • PNY Founders reference - GTX 1080: MSRP $699 New Amazon
  • EVGA Founders reference - GTX 1080: $830 New Amazon
  • MSI Founders reference - GTX 1080: $850 New Amazon
  • MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING - OC: $775 New Amazon

    GTX 1070:

  • ASUS Founders reference - GTX 1070: $525 New Amazon
  • ASUS overclock - GTX 1070: $449 New Amazon

    GTX 1060:

  • Any brand reference - GTX 1060: $299 MSRP NVIDIA

    Conclusion:

    *edit:
If the price vs MSRP for other cards is any indication, it is reasonable to expect the 1060 to retail significantly over the $299 asking price post launch, maybe $350 or higher. Then it becomes a question of value and how the 1060 will effect the market demand for the RX 480. If the OC versions of the RX 480 are on the market and maintain the same or lower prices as currently($325-$375) then the value/$ of the RX 480 is still higher than the 1060's likely real world results.
