Edit: By energy drinks I did not mean Red Bull, I was referring to the sports beverages that have electrolytes with added vitamins and minerals, most importantly B vitamins, potassium, etc. As in Zipfizz.
Have you tried taking an over-the-counter proton pump inhibitor to control the acid? Taking one pill every morning generally works for me to the point where I can even have coffee and spicy food without my reflux going all aggro on me. Look in your pharmacy for omeprazole and take one pill every morning.

Have you tried flavor enhancers or electrolyte mixes with your water? I have such a hard time drinking straight water! I usually split 1 1/2 tubes of zipfizz between 120 oz of water, and drink that throughout the day. It tastes good so I have no problem drinking it, and I get some added potassium, magnesium, and other vitamins.
