Tissue paper works really well. I've tried several things and found it to create a diffuse color that still allows plenty of light through. Try two sheets if you're using a light color and one if using a dark color. You can match the paper color to other parts of your project, too. Here's a pic of a couple of mine with green and brown paper. The tissue also creates a stained glass look, that comes out really neat. Here's a video of one doing a rainbow pattern.

Good idea!! I had searched them a few days ago but didn't find anything. I just did another search after your comment and came up with this, this and this. I guess those gift bags are cute enough and they're definitely big enough to hold everything. And the wine bags are adorable!!
