Seriously, I would like to donate bootstraps to Texas, how can I do this.

For me, it's important to be able to stow the drafting table when it's not in use, so my setup is:

Folding table (found mine at Aldi for $25)

Risers to bring it up a little higher

On top I have this big board with a 1-inch-square grid that I can stick pins in and iron on. It's from my grandma, so I'm not sure what it's called or whether they're still sold. Before she gave it to me, I was thinking about buying something like this.

Enjoy your new sewing studio!

My bed's been like this for about five years and I'm never going back.

I used this kind of elastic strap, and I've successfully gotten three roommates and my brother to do the same. It's well worth the price to never have to deal with the corners of the fitted sheet pop up.

I couldn't recommend this more.

Here you go brother. I’ve owned a few sets of these in my day.

I lived in Sauv 2 years ago but I'm pretty sure the furniture is the same in all the dorms. Yes the beds can be raised and lowered a bit but if you want a good lift on it you should get some bed risers cheap ones
the desks don't have locking drawers or anything but you can get a laptop lock with a steel cord that can wrap around the back of the desk to secure it.

I would check the other replies you have received, but these two look promising: /u/princessunicorn : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EEH5H58

Sounds like you need sheet clips.

u/EmpireCityRay · 3 pointsr/malelivingspace

OP just get these (economical too) and clip them onto the bottom of the mattress and to the queen cover sheet.

Get a top sheet that's bigger than your bed size so you can tuck it in real well on both sides. I used to do that when I was a kid so I wouldn't get hollered at for not making up my bed. I just slid in at night and slid out in the morning. Done!

Or buy sheet grippers.

Underbed storage, yes. You can also buy risers (eg) to give yourself more underbed storage.

The views from the north tower (or anywhere, really) depend on how high up you are and which direction you're facing. I've only seen south-facing on the 14th floor and it was a pretty solid view (Williamsburg Bridge, among other things) but I can't speak for anywhere else in 3N.

Haven't lived in a 3-bedroom suite.

I bought these straps off of Amazon last year and they work so much better than those from Walmart!

Don’t stack mattresses. You will not get the support your meant to get. I think it voids you’re warranty. Buy risers. I don't need these, but these bed lifts are really useful at helping manage storage space better.

Like MacDancer said, a D-ring belt works great if you don't mind a bit of bulk where it's rolled. My favorite setup was actually using bed sheet holders as suspenders. They don't damage the tights and held really well. The short length worked well with mens tights that tend to come up to the ribcage.

i hate it. they make things to keep the sheet on...

I used to experience this also, not just when I was putting them on but while I slept. Then I found a very simple and cheap solution:

The label should say deep or tall for sure. There are little straps you can get that affix under the corner that might help!

Put some bed risers (e.g. like these) under the Linnmon's legs? I have some risers under my guest bed, and they seem perfectly stable with sleepers, people sitting on it, or whatever.

Or layer some MDF to create a spacer between the legs and top? MDF takes paint well, so you could probably match the desk's color pretty well.

So if you took a regular blanket and attached some sheet clips, would that pull the blanket enough to feel like it's weighted? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0TIVA6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_siwUAbFFT55B7

Well the particular ones I was thinking of were from a dollar store, but here are some still very reasonably priced ones: https://www.amazon.com/Greenco-Strong-Furniture-Design-Storage/dp/B01CG8QW3W/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1475016562&sr=8-17&keywords=furniture+riser

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/StandingDesks

Sorry for the late reply. I don't get on here very much.

I used a generic pack of bed risers that I got on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Greenco-Strong-Furniture-Design-Storage/dp/B01CG8QW3W/ref=zg_bs_3732271_2/164-4782299-6161933).

I placed the entire desk, with casters on the bed risers. Removing the casters would have resulted in a 1-2" reduction in height. The casters can lock and orientating the wheels at 0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees results in no horizontal movement when working.

The setup I am using seems to work and lowering the desk to its lowest position still allows me to sit in my computer chair and work.

I would highly recommend a standing desk. My posture has improved and I have noticed an improvement in my lower back tone. The desk is also neat because you can force yourself to do leg exercises, i.e. squats and calf raises, and it slowly becomes second nature. My gf walked by my office yesterday and asked me what the hell I was doing and I was unknowingly doing squats.

Good luck!!

These are what I use, they are dependent on the mattress piping being thick enough to hold them, so your results may vary, but they work great on my mattress

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019RBPP8O/

There's also this type for mattresses that the above don't work on: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TGPU3FC

u/black-cat-supremacy · 1 pointr/DIY

I've got a couple twin mattresses I want to join together, and I'm not sure what I should get for it. I came across the other thread about this and it looks like my best bet is to buy one of these bed bridges, and to put a fitted sheet/topper over it.

One worry I have is with the gap filler being too soft, and sinking further into the crevice while I sleep. Luckily my mattresses are relatively firm, so I could get something with firmer foam. I'm wondering if it isn't easier to just buy a harder piece of foam (a plain plank of it, not wedge-shaped) to shove down the crack, and to just cover it with a topper. Would this make sense? Anyone else done this before?

If it helps, I've got the mattresses on the fully-extended version of this bed, and they're forced together pretty nicely so I don't really have to buy a strap.

There is also one slight problem: I have different mattress types, so one's very slightly thinner than the other. It's not a huge difference, maybe a centimeter or less, but it might affect things IDK.

u/morgf · 1 pointr/Mattress

The obvious thing is to take a deep fitted sheet or mattress pad with strong elastic all around and put it over the topper and the mattress. You can also use some of those clip on elastic bands that fasten across the corners of the fitted sheet to pull it tight.

https://www.amazon.com/Original-Sheet-Suspenders-fasteners-Adjustable/dp/B00451BG2G/

If you mean you already did that and it was not enough, then put a tight-fitting cover on the topper (if there is not already one). If you are lucky, you can find a topper cover that has elastic bands already sewn onto each of the corners. If you cannot find one like that, then get some wide and heavy elastic from the store and sew some on yourself. Or you can use the long elastic-band clip "sheet suspenders" attached to the topper cover to hold it in place.

https://www.amazon.com/ORIGINAL-Sheet-Suspenders-fastener-featured/dp/B0014AMBWK/

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0064D0PBG/

Also, if your mattress topper cover does not already have a rubbery bottom, you can get a piece or two of non-slip grip material that is also used to keep rugs from sliding, and put it between the topper and the mattress.
