I have this one and it is quiet and has been holding up well. A bit of thread lock could be a worthwhile upgrade but I haven't had to use any yet

I currently have the legs off. I have a bunny that likes to hide under there and dig.

The actual frame is just a generic metal frame from Sam's club. The headboard is this one though - Jezebel Light Grey Fabric Queen/Full Headboard by Christopher Knight Home https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XB6MH4X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_UgO3AcE3ajyqs

I’m looking at this bedframe atm but idk yet. I’ll have to check out some local thrift stores for art that’s a good idea. I’m a second year in college so I still might go for the flag. Thanks

We have a king size Zinus platform with headboard. It’s nice and very sturdy. I’m a stickler for build quality and can honestly say it’s pretty great, especially for the price. Comes with nice sturdy hardware, a great Velcro in place slat system, and assembled in under 20 mins with hand tools.

It supports a king size tempurpedic, 3” base (though not necessary), the two of us and our 2 year old when he jumps in. It never creaks or makes any other sounds.

We’ve only had it for about a year but would recommend none the less.

Though it doesn’t look like they have the queen version of this right now, I’m going to post it just so you see the bed I’m taking about. I spent a significant portion of my 20s with a memory foam mattress on the ground. My back felt fantastic and all...visitors... always spoke very highly of it. It just a $120-150? one I got delivered from amazon. Arrived smushed in a regular box and it expands open once you open it (this is the dangerous part... like a peep in a microwave). I honestly loved it and still miss floor sleeping! Bonus: some gainz with getting up from a deep squat everyday haha

I have a similar mattress now from amazon prime and am happy. We have it on one of these frames we found cheap on Craigslist: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0Z6X1U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_p1DszbMW9RWD9
It's stable and foldable with storage underneath, very easy to move. We've had it for five years now.

Thank you! I was thinking of a wall mount but didn't consider omni directional. Also, I love the idea of a daybed. Perhaps something like this https://www.amazon.com/DHP-Franklin-Century-Mid-Century-Upholstery/dp/B0764JL7LT would be very versatile and comfy for movie nights! Also perhaps a trundle could be considered, but I was thinking I wanted something on legs to have 'space' underneath to give the illusion of more space.

Also, I was thinking of having an ottoman and having a tray on it for my coffee table.

Hey guys, as mentioned, looking for some advice on what type & color of headboard to get for my room. My gut was telling me to get something tufted in a grey/charcoal color, but I've been having mixed thoughts after talking to a couple of friends. Was thinking something like: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075VCM1XR/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_7?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

I would say my style is somewhere in between Scandinavian & mid-century with southwestern/bohemian influences

Keep it if it's helping you stay comfortable and/or pain-free. If the look is what you hate, maybe consider something like this bed frame? It comes in a lot of different heights, so you can decide (or ask your doctor) which will be best for you, but it's very minimal, cheap, and apparently durable. Consider selling your old frame on Craigslist to pay for it!

It looks like the Zinus Suzanne Platform Bedframe, I have the same one.

I went with this memory foam rollaway

It's super comfortable and looks much better than an air mattress. Well worth it in my opinion.

Not exactly the same, but this is what I have (although mine is grey).

DHP Cambridge Upholstered Bed with Storage in Black, Queen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MDMDJYR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4E9MzbQJTYTC1

The storage aspect is amazing. I'm assuming in a studio situation you have minimal storage. I also like that the entire frame is padded as it helps prevent shin bruising in small spaces.

I definitely needed the extra set of hands that a friend provided for assembly.

Making the bed is easy because you can lift up and tuck the linens under pretty easily. Did I mention that I love the easy storage aspect? I will say that when I bought it I paid about $50 less than it's currently selling for on Amazon. Wayfair had the exact same bed as well (listed under a different name but still manufactured by the same company - it's the exact same bed) for about $100 more than Amazon when I ordered.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for but I love mine. No box spring required but you can use one if you prefer. I don't.

I know this is a popular topic nowadays, but you always must be wary about sales on Amazon and otherwise. If you know the going rate for an item, then you could definitely find deals on Prime Day.

I purchased Levi's 511 Rigid Dragon for 27.99 USD that day, and this bed frame for only 139.99 USD. Those deals are not likely replicable except on very specific days of the year. I don't monitor deals every day, so it was nice for me to save 50+ USD on items I needed anyway.

Have you thought about a bunk bed? Idk about your financial situation but you can order one for $180 USD on amazon (this is just from a brief search, you might be able to find one for cheaper). They are actually pretty easy to construct as long as you follow the instructions. Saves a lot of space too since I assume you are not sharing a twin bed.

Sorry about the confusion. From researching, I have come to the conclusion that I would want a variation of a japanese platform bed seen here using something like a zinus platform bed but replacing the slats for a solid piece .

As tatami is a straw mat, I would like to replicate that without having to pay the high costs.

u/allholy1 · 0 pointsr/AskSF

I purchased the zinus frames on Amazon. I think it goes for $136 for a king size. No squeaking, and all the parts fit in the headboard so it is easy to move. IMO it looks really good. The only bad thing about this bed is it's a bit low to the ground so it's hard to store things underneath the bed.
