There are lots of versions of the classic bidon storage container. I have Elite's:

Shimano sells a smaller one under their "PRO" label:

Silca sells a tool roll that compacts nicely:

The Silca is nice...because the tool-bottles can be annoying getting a standard tube in and out of, TBH.

I cannot relate to someone who doesnt care for seasonings. myProtein salted caramel flavor, sugar free syrup, dont bother with gymshark its just big price for the name. get him some youngla or rugby shorts for when hes shreddy and wants to show off the legs. tanks are cheap from amazon and aliexpress but shipping takes forever. get him a big water jug maybe a couple crew neck sweaters to keep warm/warm up in. maybe an air fryer if you want to be deluxe. crockpot if he doesnt have one.

I use the lock you linked to on amazon in NYC everyday and it works great. I've never had any problems 3+ years. I also use this convenient bottle lock - https://www.amazon.com/Kuat-BL03-Bottle-Lock-Pink/dp/B0064AW2VK/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1496110469&sr=1-1&keywords=kuat+bottle

This one works really well for me.

Polar Bottle ZipStream 24oz - Insulated Cycling & Sports Water Bottle with High Flow Cap - (20 oz Blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B6JK9T0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_-V1jDbM81CP15

Yes exactly! I have a bottle bike light, which gives me a really good substantial light around my legs, so people can see me peddling.

Orb bike light and bottle https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07K9RD89J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_pXOTDb17RQBT0

I think a lot of other lights get lost in the ‘noise’, but the bottle light really light lights the movement of my legs so people can see I’m a person, and be less likely to... murder me.

Elite Corsa bottles are the usual recommendation because they're used in the pro peloton, so most bottle cages are made to fit them. But I think some teams have been using Tacx this year so it's probably a similar story. Size depends on your requirements/local climate usually, but;

For saddle mounted I use the Profile Design [Kage] (https://profile-design.com/collections/cages/products/kage?variant=1808722526234) in tandum with a purist water bottle like [this] (https://www.amazon.com/VeloTubes-Purist-Specialized-Insulated-Bottle/dp/B01LZPQ7ZY). I have never lost a bottle riding or even had one slip out of position.

The water bottles neck is perfect and slots in the Kage really well.

I haven't tried the polar bottles, but I've tried the same setup with Camelback podium bottles and bottles that look like these:
https://www.amazon.com/NGN-Sport-Performance-Bicycle-Triathlon/dp/B077KQ4D2S/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1539948217&sr=8-12&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Bicycle+Water+Bottles

They launch off like crazy. In an Olympic distance race, I lost both bottles. What is it about the polar bottles that keeps them secure? I know the Camelback dont really have much of a notch which is probably why they weren't secure. But the other bottles have a deep notch and still fell off
