I love my e.l.f powder brush more than any of my other brushes, period. It's the perfect size and the flat top makes it so easy to control the amount of powder I use. It's $4.99 on Amazon but I bought it in Target for $3

I bought (almost jokingly) one of those make-up brushes for women to clean my laptop. Lo and behold I clean each and every gadget (and other precious items) with it nowadays.

I don't really love the Ecotools one, it's kind of scratchy. Instead, I would recommend the Real Techniques one. It's really soft and inexpensive- just depends if you're okay with it being angled.

I agree with everything that /u/postmortemism has said. I've also tried both.

I find that the Lucy Minerals feels less "dry" and the formula is creamier. The owner of Lucy Minerals has sensitive skin and developed the formula with that in mind. Here's her note about it if you're interested. The Meow formula is also good for sensitive skin if only because it has so few ingredients in it.

I use a Japonesque Safari Chic Kabuki and I really like it for mineral foundation. I think any kind of kabuki would work but it really depends on what kind of coverage you're looking for. For heavier coverage, you'll need a denser kabuki and for lighter, a "fluffier" one.

I have a crapton of Meow and Lucy Minerals foundations that I can send you if you'd like. You just have to cover the shipping cost (probably around $3). Let me know which shades you're interested in and I can dig through my stash to see what I have.

This is the one I bought http://www.amazon.com/CAILYN-Wow-Make-Up-Brush/dp/B00MAE1O0Y/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1451349382&sr=8-2&keywords=makeup+brush+oval

Here is a knockoff of that one.... http://www.amazon.com/SHEENROAD-Makeup-Cosmetic-Foundation-Powder/dp/B015SNN2HQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1451349382&sr=8-3&keywords=makeup+brush+oval

If you type oval makeup brush in the search bar there are a bunch that come up. My only complaint is I wish the brush head was bigger. It's about the size of the top of my thumb. Otherwise it's a great brush, but I've never used the artis ones

If you are fair and cool-toned, you really can't go wrong with Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed. It is such a beautiful rosy nude, and it gives such a nice, natural dimension to the face without looking like, "whoa, you have blush on!" For me, it was a nice baby-step into the world of blushes, and it was the only blush I owned for about a year before I started exploring other colors.

I wish I could help you with brushes, but it seems the Sephora brush that I have is so old, they no longer carry it! I bought it probably about four years ago (it's the angled blush brush #40, but I see now that whatever they have listed on Sephora's website as a #40 is most definitely not the same brush). I think any angled blush brush would probably suit you just fine.

u/buttercult · 3 pointsr/brownbeauty

You don't really need to replace your brushes if they aren't raggedy and falling apart or shedding. If you're cleaning and taking care of them regularly t hey should be absolutely fine to keep.

That being said, I think the Elf Studio brushes and Eco tools are great.

This is my favorite foundation brush of all time: http://www.amazon.com/e-l-f-Studio-Powder-Brush-elf/dp/B002B4GGUG

I've replaced them a few times to be honest because it starts shedding after about a year but I love everything about how this brush is designed and how it works. You can really control the amount of coverage, stipple, blend. It works with all textures of foundation from cream to liquid to powder. Love it. 6 bucks!

Not sure if the environmental effects balance out, but perhaps could be worth looking into professional lash tinting?

Edit: I haven’t used this specific brand, but also cake mascara with a mascara fan brush could be another alternative.

u/unicornsprinklepoop · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I feel like you can't really go wrong with a simple pink blush. Not too light, not too dark and you can avoid shimmer if you're not into that. I find that things like stains and cream blushes are harder to apply, so stick with whatever is easiest for you to start out; for me it's pressed powder. NYX has blush that's pretty good and not too expensive. Use a decent sized blush brush (this is the one I have and it's cheap), and while smiling apply a swipe or two over the apples of your cheeks, or you can add more to build up the color to how you want it. Also, don't stress about trying to find ones that will "match" your skin. Sure you can find shades that would probably go best with your skin tone, but makeup to me is all about having fun, so just get whichever shade you want and have fun with it!

u/burneraccount15613 · 2 pointsr/AnimeFigures

So something like this would be ok? I know nothing about makeup brushes and which ones have softer bristles lol.

u/ScottTheHuman · 2 pointsr/AnimeFigures

Currently my collection isn't that big so I use something like this, I'd imagine investing 25+ into better dusters would 100% be worth it. I've never seen someone dust with an air compressor but something more like this. I've never used either though, so I'm not sure if they would be too strong and could possibly damage figures.

I need this Giant blush brush because mine is gross. I tried to wash it, and it's...not..the...same.

Thanks for the contest!

u/T4n6l3d · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Thanks! And I just realized when I read ecotool that I actually have ecotool brushes not RT. I have this set and this set

I'm guessing the one you use is this brush (says for bronzer) or [this brush] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9BUU73/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_TqNuzbWE8SCZF). Do either look familiar?

u/flargle_queen · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Just take a big fluffy brush, get a little black matte eye shadow, and lightly dust it from the top of your ear down towards the corner of your mouth. I also apply a little bit more black shadow up by my ear and blend it down lightly.

I actually use this Elf Brush. It's loosely packed so it picks up just a little product, and it works fabulously. It's also like a dollar. Lol

u/iamnotanartist · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I use this one. Its angled and fluffy so I can "shape" the blush well and blend it out too.

I have a Real Techniques retractable Kabuki brush (link below) which is great for throwing in my bag to use with powder on the go. I use the Soap and Glory One Heck of A Blot Powder on the go for touch ups, with this brush!

Happy Early Birthday! :) Sounds like a great day you have planned!

My birthday is usually a pretty low key event, and I'm OK with it. I'm usually guaranteed a Lemon Meringue pie and a home-cooked meal of my choice (usually Tuna Noodle Casserole, which I'm also totally OK with). I really can't say anything could be more ideal than that, for me anyways :)

I do have a somewhat random story to share...I share a birthday with a certain mammal that checks for shadow once a year. One of my family/friends usually does something with it....like one year I got a cake delivered to school with a large picture of a groundhog on it. Last year my Mom sent me flowers to work, with a large card just reading "Happy Groundhogs Day!". One of my co-workers finally broke down and asked me why I got flowers for groundhogs day, and if I thought it was normal!

If I won I would love to try this! Thanks for hosting! :)
