Bell sanction

Very nice helmet, I went with something similar but lower end: https://www.amazon.com/Demon-United-Podium-Mountain-Protection/dp/B07HPCWMX2

Hopefully it fits!
Most people here will probably recommend something like the TSG Pass, but it鈥檚 well over your budget (259USD). Since you鈥檙e just trying out esk8, I would think about getting a mountain bike style helmet which is significantly cheaper but will still protect you face/teeth. This one is 89USD: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079XQ4QVJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XhB-Ab06ZZCAF
I really want one of those myself because of the fox brand. However, there is a cheaper alternative on amazon. Demon United Podium Full Face Helmet black/Lrg https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079XR43BW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jAccBbMGJX1SV
Anyone know if the Bell Servo would work as a full face? It's this one
They also sell what appears to be a step up called the Sanction
motor cycle helmets are heavy and will take a toll when turning your head.
instead, look into Bell Sanction and Bell Drop.

https://www.amazon.com/Bell-Sanction-Bike-Helmet-Hibiscus/dp/B075RQY2L5/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525045105&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=bell%2Bfull%2Bface%2Bmountain%2Bbike%2Bhelmet&dpPl=1&dpID=41qv2PlOvUL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1
I wouldn't trust most full face helmets for under $50. If you are going to be using that board going downhill and full throttle you'll really want a full face helmet. If you're just after life-saving protection then I'd go with something like this https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tec-CLASSIC-SKATE-Classic-Helmet/dp/B0018GYNEO?th=1&psc=1

But if you want full-face protection go with something like this https://www.amazon.com/Bell-Sanction-Bike-Helmet-Hibiscus/dp/B07GT6NDKY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1541343354&sr=8-4&keywords=full%2Bface%2Blongboard%2Bhelmet&th=1&psc=1 (THIS IS NOT DOT RATED)

Now keep in mind that full-face doesn't have a visor and is not DOT rated so use at your own risk(still betetr than nothing). You can get dirtbike/BMX visors on the cheap or invest $200-$300 for a nice downhill longboarding helmet (That is DOT rated) but those are more designed for racing and are very aerodynamic.

I wear that Pro-Tec helmet I linked and take my meepo downhill up to 30mph but I also have a lot of downhill longboarding experience and have been 40+ before. With an E-Skate downhill can actually be more dangerous than a standard longboard due to stopping time and force, especially on an inexperienced rider. The advantage of classic longbaord downhill is sliding stops very quickly and we usually wear gloves with pucks and knee pads. Skate safe!

EDIT: As long as the helmet is DOT rated it should be fine, don't feel like what I linked you is the best of the best, just my informed opinion. Try to find a transfer-9 under a hundred dollars. This page often has various medium, large, and extra-large transfers for under a hundred, you have to click around in the color options.
That transfer 9 has like, 4 certifications, including the new downhill. I got one for less than $100. If you compare that to the sanction, the sanction's only got one certification and it's what you would expect, a cheap bike helmet full face but not even with a kid's skate-park certification.
https://www.amazon.com/Bell-Sanction-Adult-Helmet-Retina/dp/B01KP7J9A4/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=bell+sanction&psc=1&qid=1570541894&s=outdoor-recreation&sr=1-2
Scroll down to the chart and look at the certifications. If you can get a $96 helmet at the first link, it's literally like four times the helmet of your sanction.
Good luck!
I was thinking about getting one of these. I saw it mentioned somewhere as a cheap way into the realm of full faces. And I have some experience doing some good old fashioned shop vac vacuum forming, so I could probably make face shields for it.
And it would be dual purpose for me since I also do downhill mountain biking on occasion.
You talking, something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Demon-Podium-Helmet-Viper-Goggles/dp/B01IWEA1PO/
Never seen anyone riding around town with one of them, but honestly if it was comfortable enough, I like the idea of it and the shade factor, no goggles just sunglasses though!
Also, I wonder how peripheral vision is with one of these?
I have this one. very sturdy.
So would Demon Podium Full Face Helmet w/ MIPS be good?
Maybe urban cyclists need to adopt full face helmets. I know that they look silly and add weight but losing teeth makes you lighter in a painful way example
No shame in wearing protective gear. At least a helmet provides enough critical protection. I wear a helmet and gloves and am willing to accept scrapes and potential broken bones. With the helmet, I figure if I'm falling, I'm probably going to smack my face on something given the upright position, so I went with a full face helmet. It still kind of feels like overkill, but I honestly don't care because I know my face is protected and I won't have to worry about potential dental work, which I'm pretty sure everyone hates. For the gloves, it's more of avoiding being annoyed should I get scrapes on my hands from breaking a fall.
Recently, we had a hit and run on a kid obeying all the rules of the road. The driver turned left into oncoming traffic (bicyclist) and the kid wasn't wearing a helmet. Last I read he was in bad condition in the hospital and he didn't do anything wrong from witness accounts.

Demon United Podium Full Face Helmet black/Lrg https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079XR43BW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_UpVbBbCQZNB83
I just got this one in the mail in anticipation of eventually getting my Raptor 2 shipped to me. It's super lightweight and has pretty good ventilation. I definitely like the look of the downhill mountain bike helmets a lot more than something like the TSG Pass.
If you're not trying to break the bank, this is what I went with. https://www.amazon.com/Demon-United-Podium-Helmet-black/dp/B079XP9Q32/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1525452397&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=Podium+demon&psc=1
Definitely makes me feel safer than the bike helmet I was using before.
Does anyone know if a helmet like this is good? Weighs just about as much as a TSG Pass and says it's for biking.
Krash Bling Helmet lmao
I was able to grab the Black Carbon in a medium for $50
[Here is a fiberglass one]
re-post from silverfish:
Re: cheap FULLFACE helmets?!!!
"I've gotten a Bell Sanction. Very light and affordable, but I had to make my own visor. Runs a size smaller, so if you wear a M for other helmets, get an L."
According to amazon it "weighs just 950 grams"
As an added bonus it looks pretty sick without the visor.
I'm not going to bother searching but I have a bookmark for a bell drop at 110NZD. That's 90USD. You should surely be able to find one for around 60-70USD.
Edit: I lied. I could be bothered http://www.amazon.com/Bell-2008339-Drop-Bike-Helmet/dp/B001GAOLQ2
Edit Again: Seems like I underestimated the cost of this helmet , and I seemingly just found an NZ site with a strangely good deal.
Yes. Bell Drop. Good airflow.
http://www.amazon.com/Bell-2008339-Drop-Bike-Helmet/dp/B001GAOLQ2
Sure!
I wear a Bell Drop on my noggin, with a Drift Stealth 2 attached up top and a Cygolite Expilion 850 on the side and a bunch of reflective tape all over it. On the back of my head is a Cygolite Hotrod.
On my bod I've got a SixSixOne Rage Pressure Suit, and an Ergodyne Assault hi-viz MOLLE vest.
On days when I need my laptop, I bring along an Ortlieb 20L Velocity backpack.
On the vest I wear a Boombotix Rex, a 26" folding baton, an air horn, my cell phone case, and a Sharpee marker. If I'm not wearing a backpack, I wear a MOLLE pouch for my toolkit and another for my rain gear mounted to the back of the vest. I wear another Hotrod back there, too.
I also keep a Cygolite Dash 450 on my bars in flashing mode, and a second Stealth 2 mounted off my seatpost pointed backwards.
My jeans are swrve slim cuts.
I wear a Mixed Works Lark on my waist for wallet/misc, and for a waterproof place for my phone in case it rains; that's where I keep my Kryptonite as well.
Generic biking gloves, and the shoes are Specialized, but I don't know the model/make (bought them off Ebay).
Either is overkill if you're not into downhill, both in price and also heavy helmets are not fun to wear.
I can vouch for the [Bell Sanction full-face] (http://www.amazon.com/Bell-Sanction-BMX-Downhill-Helmet/dp/B00479MYE0) as a worthy alternative: it costs the third of these and is lighter. Read the reviews on Amazon.
