How important having the right brush is for success with ABH Dipbrow!

I tried it a few times with a small-ish eyeshadow/lip brush and kept looking like I'd drawn them on with a sharpie.

Once I bit the bullet and got an eyebrow-specific brush (small angle brush on one end, spoolie on the other) my brow game was forever changed.

Doesn't have to be expensive either, I got this one on Amazon and it works great!

u/missyanntx · 10 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Real Techniques! I've recommended it to all of my friends, all of them that have bought it (3 or 4?) have thanked me and raved about it. I've had mine for about a year now and it's still in perfect condition, it's an all around great brush.

I like Real Techniques' Lash Brow Comb (http://www.amazon.com/Real-Techniques-Lash-Brow-Groomer/dp/B00A7H8ECW - it's cheap on Amazon! Compare to $6 at ULTA). Does the job and you can clean with makeup remover. :)

u/Pandelirious · 5 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Thanks so much!
I use this brush for the dipbrow. I ended up cutting off some bristles from the sides because it was a bit too thick for my liking lol.

I use Glamour Dolls Blending Brush #10 Sperm Whale Edition that I got from an Ipsy bag for precise blending and I use this brush from BH Cosmetics for blending larger areas like the space between my crease and brows.

Well, it kind of depends on the products and how you use brushes, to be honest. I thought you might have had a few in mind, but if you're starting from scratch, I'd get a set like this -- these are supposedly a Sigma dupe, a lot of people have vouched for them. Then I'd get the Real Techniques Core Collection for use on creamy/liquid things; easier to clean. I'd get the Real Techniques Eye set and a Sigma E35. Finally, I'd get this lash comb that comes with a spoolie. Edit: I would also go to a Target or store that sells ELF near me and pick up about 4-5 of their eyeshadow brushes, or else get an EcoTools set on Amazon, because I find I'm ALWAYS running out of eyeshadow brushes if I use a few colors every day. It's easy to reuse a blending brush because those wipe clean a lot easier, haha.

That should be a sufficient set for almost any use and it should only be about half your gift card. With the other half, you can look at things like the Lorac Pro or anything else that strikes your fancy after you start doing your makeup regularly and feel a need for something else. Good luck!!

I have one of [these] (https://www.amazon.com/Maybelline-New-York-Expert-Tools/dp/B00133HK3I/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1501390964&sr=8-6&keywords=lash%2Bcomb&th=1) and whenever i put on clumpy waterproof mascara, I use the comb end to comb them upwards. It gets rid of the clumps nicely.

u/LuckyShamrocks · 3 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

I've used both. I prefer just a spoolie, but you may want a comb and brush one. Something like this may do you really well as it has everything combined. Amazon or beauty stores will definitely have something cheaper for you in Europe under 20 for it. I can say both the spoolie and the comb work for pushing up the brows to cut them easier and give you a guide for not cutting too short. It's just a preference which one you'd like better.

u/Kimandmakeup · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

My favorite is the #7 Anastasia too!! (aka 7b on Ulta) but I've heard the Ardell duo brow brush is a dupe.

u/openthelocked · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddicts

I really enjoy this Ardell brush for use with my Dipbrow. It's stiff but soft and great for blending.

u/inc0nceivable · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I watched a Wayne Goss tutorial on this that changed everything. Getting a push brush and using gel eyeliner really helps. I ended up getting this Sigma brush and it doesn't hurt and only takes a few seconds. Highly recommend.

u/42spleens · 2 pointsr/CatsandCosmetics

I did it! I washed them! I've been pretty good lately with washing my brushes every weekend - here is how I do it!

I have a decent collection so far, and a different use for every brush I have, but there are definitely a few more that I want!

Sooo the types of brushes I'm looking for to round out my collection are (and they don't have to be these exact ones of course):

u/cuppycaek · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

Woohoo, congrats on the BIG MONEY! :)

I've had Velvet Teddy on my Wishlist for such a longgg time, it looks so pretty when I see it posted in FOTD's!

And a look posted by CosmicOlive not too long ago made me lust after the NYX Adorable Palette as well :)

I would also like to try this Ardell Brush Duo, as I recently bought some Dipbrow and am having some serious struggles with my current tools.

Thank you so much for hosting, and awesome job on the record shattering work! :)

u/neurogeneticist · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

This is the brush I use. However, I may be in the minority in what I like in an eyebrow brush. The bristles are not very stiff, but I love this as it's very easy to get short, feathery, natural strokes! If I'm going for a bolder brow, I use a small Sonia Kashuk angled liner brush from the anniversary set that was out over the summer - it looks pretty similar to a SK brush someone posted earlier!

u/MissHillyG · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I think Ardell makes one! It's an angled brush on one end and a spoolie on the other end. You can find it on Amazon!
I'll try to link it.
I am not sure how comparable it is to the ABH one.

You can find a kit like this at just about any drug store or large grocery store that has a makeup aisle. I bought that kit, from that company even, like ten years ago and it's still going strong.

If you want to get extra fancy Tweezerman has a kit where the scissors are angled so you can more comfortably work near your face in the mirror, but the price for the kit jumps from ~$8 to ~$22.

  1. My go to site is Pinterest I can (and have) spend days on there......

  2. My perfect birthday meal would the 24 hour beef brisket from Flying Mango. I always get it with mashed potatoes of the day and red beans and rice. Oh and a side of cornbread because they have the most amazing cornbread. I actually demanded this cornbread in lieu of a birthday cake a few years ago!!! Yes it's that good :)

  3. Ooooh tough call... But I really like Coastal Scents Winterberry Palette and the RT Lash/Brow Groomer :) I had to think way to hard on that... lol

  4. Cows have best friends and they get stressed/upset when they are separated! That's <3!

  5. Flash This

Thanks for hosting and Happy Happy Half Birthday :)
u/nintendo_kitten · 2 pointsr/Makeup

It takes practice but also you could get one of these comb tools. The link is just an example and I have tried that specific one but it really helps separate lashes

I'd love this eyelash comb and eyebrow brush duo! My eyelashes always clump together when I use makeup. Gross!

Welcome to the sub! I don't remember seeing your intro, but I've been hella busy this past week. I'm Kristi. Hope you like it here! :)

u/h0dge · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I kept trying to blend that out, but I guess I needed to do so a little more than I realized. Darn. Thanks!

I highlighted the inner corner of my eye first, and then I used a Sigma Flat Definer brush and just pressed powder onto my eyelid until I got it to the density I want. I find it works amazingly when I want to bring the outer corner shading out into a mini colored wing as well!

u/beaniebugg · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I think you should definitely buy one of those forensic psychology books. I picked this one. I think being a forensic psychologist is amazing and takes an extremely strong/talented individual. I really was looking into it but I realized I didn't want to pursue higher education after a Bachelors.

I really need this brush for my makeup. I think it makes a huge difference in application to the waterline/eyes.

Code: woop-di-woop

u/QuaereVerumm · 2 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

I have a Beauty Blender but I never use it, I haven't really noticed any difference in how it applies vs. a brush and brushes are easier to deal with cleaning-wise. I like flat kabuki brushes for foundation, I used to use Sigma's F80 brush but there have been lots of dupes developed, I just get some generic brand off of Amazon now.

I've never felt the need to get expensive brushes. EcoTools, Real Techniques, Coastal Scents, and other similarly-priced brushes have always worked great for me. I also recently got a bunch of these eyeliner brushes to replace the ones I was using (Sigma E05).

For my eyelash curler, I use a Shu Uemura that I've had for the past like 9 years. I get the Shiseido eyelash curler replacement pads and they fit in the curler fine. I bought another Sephora eyelash curler, but I've never used it, I just bought it because it was pretty and iridescent, haha.

Tweezers - I use Tweezerman ones, I get my facial hair threaded on a regular basis but I use tweezers to pluck hairs that have grown back in between sessions.

ok, I actually like those glasses on you. But when you wear glasses you need a bit more in the eye area, since you are already drawing attention to that area. Take the brown eyeshadow you already have, and get one of these types of brushes. A stiff angled brush. And then gently fill in your brows, starting from the middle of your arch. And when you do your eyeshadow, do it a tiny bit heavier, and try out bringing it under the outer 1/3 of your lower lash line. Glasses cast shadows, and your light-handed approach (while perfectly fine for no-glasses) gets lost behind them. I think your eyeliner/mascara is pretty much perfect for you. I don't know that I would suggest any different shape at all. And I'd LOVE to see a little color on your lips!

u/roseatesg · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

I think Ebony should work fine! I use the Ardell Duo Brow Brush to apply.

The steps are pretty easy but it takes practise to get the shape you like!

I spoolie my brows first to get them to go in one direction, then I draw the outline (shape) of the brow that I want.

I'll fill in from the back of the brow inwards so the inner of my brow won't be as harsh as the outer :-) Something like this! Haha I'm still far from an expert for my brows - but currently I like how it looks.

  1. My favorite is The Lion King because every single shot is absolutely beautiful. I don't think anything else they've done has come close.

  2. Something for your list. My dog loves them!

  3. See ya real soon!

  4. My item

Sadly I've never been to Disney :( Which is sad considering I'm apparently related to Walt Disney. But I want to go one day!
u/dizzyvonblue · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Hey, I hope you cheer up. It sucks being sad. I will come through the computer and tickle you.

I'm trying to collect all these brushes Real technique brush

u/anotherdamnwriter · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

My brows need a lot of work so I'm going to go with these two for under $30 so I could possibly up my brow game! Haha

Target is a superstore chain here in the US. It's a type of store that has everything - cosmetics, clothing, electronics, as well as a grocery. If you've heard of WalMart, it's exactly like that. While I can't name any similar chains in Norway, here is an example of a lash comb, and here is an example of a lash curler.

Hope you're able to find what you need. By the way, your eyes are lovely!

u/ottiecat · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I've been using this from Amazon for ages, I really need to upgrade to that, it's not stiff or big enough. I need to get better at grooming my brows on time, I swear they turn into a jungle as soon as I get them threaded.

u/NotSuzyHomemaker · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

drama llama!

These if you have Prime, this if you don't.

Thanks for the contest!

u/jaburke · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I have two angled brushes: The one I have amongst my other eye brushes is from Sephora that I got in this set though of course you can buy it individually. It's a good angle brush but I dedicate it solely to eyeshadow. The one I actually use for my brows is the Ardell Duo Brow Brush. The angle brush on this one probably isn't as firm as my Sephora brush but for the price it gets the job done. I bought it because of the price, particularly because it has the spoolie end and I was too cheap to buy the Anastasia version of this brush for $18 lol

u/butternutsquashsoup · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I use this Ardell brush with an angled brush end and a spoolie and it works great!

u/13emily13 · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

Aww man :/ International shipping is a bummer sometimes. Here's a really similar Sigma brush I found on Amazon if that helps at all! It's a little bit more money, but Sigma is super awesome quality.

u/OK_See_Ya_Later_Pan · -2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Shut up.

You fucking own that lip color. It's yours - forever. OMG and your eyes. QUIT! THEY ARE AMAZ-BALLS!

Two comments: First, you have a rogue nose hair, find it and destroy it. Second, your eyebrows look dusty? Maybe foundation in them? I like to comb through them with something like this. It helps pull the foundation powder out. Shoot, you could just as easily wipe them with a towel after you set your powder.
