Okkaaaayyy. So! Does that vanity not possess drawers or cabinets? Start there. Actually, no.

  1. Get a trash bag. Every empty or NEARLY empty container gets tossed. I don't care if there's one pump left in that sucker that you're saving for a special occasion.

  2. Take EVERYTHING that's left and pull it off the counter and out from below and empty the drawers and set it on the floor of the room nextdoor.

  3. Slowly evaluate everything you NEED. You say it all has to stay, but I see 2 pump bottles of cetaphil. Y'all need to learn to share.

  4. The counter should be for the things you use DAILY, and really only 2x a day. Face cleanser and moisturizer and tooth shittery.

  5. Use a cake stand to elevate those items up off the counter surface. They have some at Target for $5 in their little dollar section. That plate will get full and when it does, STOP. That's all that should be out.

  6. Get a few of these to store under your sinks- once they are full, get rid of the rest

  7. Get some clear acrylic trays to organize the make up and make up brushes

You don't need to spend a huge amount of money on this. Go to the dollar store. Go to a thrift store. Use discipline and discernment about what NEEDS to stay out and visible. Bathrooms should be personal sanctuaries. If you're visually overwhelmed the moment you enter, you probably won't feel clean or refreshed.

    Anyway, lots of luck.

I work at a professional bakery and this looks beautiful!! You should consider putting your stuff on decorative boards instead of the white ones with the raw edges:

Hey there! I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for but hopefully it'll help all the guys n gals looking to get their ladies the ultimate beauty station! As a professional makeup artist for MAC, Chanel and multiple other brands plus freelancing for years I have gotten many ideas over the years!
Be sure to get her plenty of storage if she has a lot of products and tools. Amazon/ Ebay also sell an electric brush cleaner now which is perfect for gals with a ton of brushes. My bro-in-law did the same project & I still have all the links. He installed lights (like these below) around my beauty-obsessed sister's makeup mirror & they're great. I also recommend a mirror that pulls out from the wall (like hotels have!) And a comfy & stylish chair is a must to make her feel like her fave beauty vlogger. Also, get crafty- you can always think of other ways to use these ideas for ex: instead of buying new, repurpose some cool vintage pieces!

This example should help. Basically,
hollow plastic dowels and cake boards between each layer will support the weight of the tiers and keep them from collapsing. Depending on the diameter of each tier, you'll use anywhere from 3 to 7 dowels. Assemble a tier on top of a cake board with the same diameter. Looking down at the top of the tier, figure out where the dowels need to go. The dowels will go in about halfway towards the center of the cake in a triangle (3), square (4), cross (5) pattern, etc. Once you know where they need to go, cut the dowels to the height of that tier, then gently tap them all the way in. Do this with each tier to secure it. Then stack the tiers on top of each other. And if the tiers are particularly huge and heavy, you'll need a center dowel all the way through the cake (solid wood or metal). But this is only for massive cakes, usually. Voilá.

Edit: Fixed broken link

Personally, I think you may have a hard time finding 5 matching stands in different heights, but I have 2 suggestions:

(1) If you're DIY-inclined, head over to your local thrift shop (e.g., Goodwill) and pick out cake stands of similar styles. You could probably find cookie trays too, but not likely 3 matching ones. Spray paint them a matching color.

(2) If you're not DIY-inclined, get ready to search Amazon, Target, Michaels, and Joann with a fine-tooth comb. Pick a color you like and search for "X + cake stand":

I found a couple results searching "tea snack tray removable plate" on Amazon.

I am making my own wedding cake. It will be untraditional but still be cake. So it will be four tiers and each tier will be a different flavor. It will not be stacked instead it will be on this display: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AU81OZC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=O0IYF9VFT4GK&coliid=ITRO91BFM8HDS

that I will decorate to make our décor. The flavors will be: vanilla bean cake with vanilla buttercream, dark chocolate cake with milk chocolate buttercream, lemon cake with blueberry lavender frosting, and pumpkin spice cake with pumpkin caramel cream cheese frosting. I will be decorating it with sugar pearls, rolled buttercream for a lace applicae, and buttercream flowers in purples and light blues to match my theme and colors. I am going to do a small trial of these cakes and frosting, scaled down so I can taste it.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I was wondering if you could help me out with something:

Hello,

I'm using a white plastic cake decorating tray to make my models. It's been working out pretty good but the problem that I'm having is that the models have a hole in the bottom of them and I can't figure out how to make a solid from them. I'm using Memento and Meshmixer. Any tips? I've tried adding a base to the model using a cylinder and some spheres for the model to rest on but then I get a "non-manifold" error and the frog is still hollow.

Isn't there some simple way to make a solid model? - Jeff

P.S. This is the place where I work in the jungle if you want to visit: Rainforest Expeditions I'll be going out next week for about a week and will try to take some more pics and post them.

My Mum & I are baking the cake(s).

Top tier: 6' lemon meringue pie

Second: 8' Fruit Cake (my grandma's recipe)

Third: 10' Victoria Sponge

Fourth: 14' Chocolate Sponge

We're not actually tier-ing them on top of one another. We've bought a 4 pillared tiered stand instead, and I'm making cake toppers out of some leftover fabric flowers I've made (also used in my bouquets/button holes/corsages) for the 3 larger cakes.

  • Rye - Bulliet
  • Vodka - Stoli or Titos
  • Gin - Junipero
  • Tequila - Espalon
  • <$20 red wine - Coppola Claret / Louis Martini cab / fuck, even j lhor.
  • beer - no ciders. IPA's are a safe bet along with some good local brews

    Sorry not sorry for last night's drunken break down but you really need to step your alcohol game up. People judge on that shit. All the bottles I listed are under $25 at my local liquor store. And do more than just mixers Get yourself a cocktail shaker, a jigger and a mudler and learn to make some drinks. It's really not that hard and people will be impressed as fuck. Want to take it a step further? Get one of these bad fuckers and some nice glassware. bar glassware shouldn't be optional and you can pick up some nice stemware for cheap. Go get some big ice cub silicon molds and fill with filtered water. Use those in place of ice cubes. It's all about perception. If a girl were to come over and you made her a nice drink with a beautiful presentation, she'd be blown away vs the banal rum and coke. One I like;

  • muddle basil and 2 pcs of cucumber with a pinch of kosher salt
  • 1.5 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz simple syrup (sugar water
  • .5 oz lime juice.

Give that a good shake and strain over a cube/burg. Garnish with cucumber wheel and basil sprig. I cook a lot so I have both ingredients on hand frequently.

Alcohol should have expression. Don't buy shit to pander to people, buy what you like. If you really really like new amsterdam and jose cuervo then fine do you but spend a few extra $$ and show that you really care. For the record, cuervo gold is just cuervo silver with additives.

I have had great success using an edger. I would also suggest grabbing a cake plate and covering it with shelf liner for easier cleaning.

u/flieslikeabanana · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

I'm hiring a friend! Since traditional tiered cakes are more physics-cally demanding, we're going with this cascading tier design. We're doing a fluffy sponge cake layered with whipped cream and fresh fruit topped with buttercream.

u/meowkiteh · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

Hi! I use to make wedding cakes from home and have some experience! YouTube is awesome but I would also check out cakecentral.com. If you are afraid of stacking cakes, I recommend the getting a stacking kit like this https://www.amazon.com/Bakery-Crafts-Tier-Cake-Stacking/dp/B00E1MSVMC. It's very simple and sturdy.

u/I_Have_The_Legs · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

How about a tired cake stand? A clear/glass one would match any theme you have, and you could hang stuff off the sides and put things on the tiers

I freaking ADORE that ferris wheel btw!

u/newgrl · 0 pointsr/gifsthatkeepongiving

No. It was some version of this.
